Lets face it. The current gem system is BOOOOOORRINNNNGGGGGG!!! And has little to no impact on anything. Oooo-aaaaaahhh +0.38% crit chance from a gem.
THERE ISNT ANYTHING FUN ABOUT THAT!!
The core game NEEDS a gem system like remix. PERMENANTLY!!!
Now calm down haters. I’m not saying it needs to be OP. Quiet the opposite in fact.
The system doesnt even have to be direct damaging effects, or healing, etc. But things that could help flesh out builds, or improve specific things that we personally feel our build needs or is lacking.
For example:
A gem that gives +5% Lightning damage.
A gem that reduces the cast time of Living Flame by 0.25s.
A gem that gives Shadow Crash +1 charge.
A gem that restores some mana every few seconds.
There could even be Legendary gems that give powers like remix ones or are more build defining like:
Gems that give you a specific talent node that you might want, but otherwise not be able to reach in your build.
A gem that makes Elemental Shaman mastery overloads trigger +1 overload (at reduced damage, of course).
A gem that makes Fury of Elune apply Stellar Flare.
A gem that does a burst of chi energy around the Brewmaster whenever they dodge.
Gems that reduce the cooldowns of major skills.
The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!
Doing something like this would not only make gems actually useful and interesting to get, but also expand build options and, most importantly, add FUN to the game.

i know ill get flack but ill say not then you will kill off a profession if this went through
How would you kill off a profession if the profession is the one making the gems? Doesnt add up.
What you’re describing is similar to tier set bonuses. So in essence, we have it already.
Thats what you all said years ago when I made several posts saying they should bring back the Mage Tower.
Guess what happened.
Wasn’t me so I wouldn’t be part of that. Bringing back a piece of game content doesn’t have anywhere near the same level of impact as completely altering power progression in the game.
Thats like saying Tier sets and talents are the same thing. Guess we have to get rid of one of those since vaguely similar things apparently are not allowed to co-exist.
I mean, no? Blacksmiths and leather workers still make the armor, jewel crafters still make the gems, but they make different kind of gems instead.

Thats not what everyone said back then. People were up in ARMS about the mere idea of it.
And COMPLETELY altering power progession? Not in the least. Its no more impactful than adding Hero Talents. And why would you NOT want another form of customization and build diversity?
Can you point me to where I said get rid of anything? I’m commenting on how they sound similar to tier set bonuses. I didn’t say remove anything.
What are you on about?
Sure, but I’m not the one that would be crying. Adding another level of imbalance into an already imbalanced game doesn’t matter to me in the slightest lol.

Then why bother posting a negative comment at all?
I didn’t, I just said it wouldn’t happen, and it won’t lol.

To be fair… it already did once: Azerite traits. They replaced tier with the Azerite gear borrowed power system.
I dont think we need yet another system for builds on top of everything else.

Saying “we already have it” is basically saying “theres no point in adding it.”
Which is in essence suggesting that similar systems should not co-exist.
Because they got rid of tier and everyone that was testing it was scratching their head because it was basically another version of tier. I highly doubt people want to do that all over again lol.
No, Azerite Traits replaced skill trees.
I’m talking about a handful of sockets with minor, optional, upgrades.
