STATEMENT: Flying available from the get-go means they designed these zones with flying in mind, so I feel like it will be impossible to simply traverse on a ground mount… you will need to use Dragon Riding.
Azure Span is “possibly the largest single zone we’ve ever done” and then in an interview said the Dragon Isles themselves are “possible the largest continent we’ve ever done.”
DISCLAIMER:"I dont think this means it will be larger than Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms
REBUTALL: They have to push /played metrics… im sure the zones are going to be topsy curvey, and very hard to navigate since it is being made with flying in mind.
I certainly hope it’s expansive. The zones of the last few expansions have felt very small in comparison to those that were designed with flight in mind.
Larger than EK/Kalimdor would be absolutely incredible, but yeah I wouldn’t expect it. Bigger than Outland/Northrend is still pretty good and a marked improvement over what we’ve been getting.
I think they stopped trying to make landmasses even remotely to map scale a while back. So basically the islands we’ve been playing on in the past few expansions are a lot closer to 1:1 lore scale whereas EK, Kalimdor, Outland, etc are shrunken much more.
Hm, he says that Azurespan is “one of the biggest zones we’ve done in the Dragonflight, maybe even to date” so if thats true and if all the zones of similar sizes that will be nice, Im a bit tired of little zones.
I’ll believe it when it has been confirmed in triplicate submitted on the proper forms, with a blood type, fingerprint, retinal scan, DNA sample, blood test, and at east two forms of government approved picture ID.
