This is just a friendly reminder that we are still waiting on a Green Fire variant of Demonbolt. As it still appears red with Codex of Xerrath enabled. I think this is the only spell that is missing it. I’m sure it’s been brought up a million times over the past years. I’m just putting it here as a sticky note.

Why would this apply to Demonbolt? Codex applied to fire spells specifically. Immolate, incinerate, lock mount, etc. Demo is shadowflame which is inherently purple and these spells have never been affected by Codex. Why should demonbolt be green if hand of guldan isn’t?

shadowflame means there’s a component which is fire
the spell effect in your right hand as you cast is fire

It’s both purple and red. You can see the flame part on the right hand when hard casting. So yeah, it should be purple and green if you got the codex.
Thank you for the this incredibly educational post within which you totally schooled me on the semantics of the word “shadowflame” and also the effects of the spells I’ve been casting for like 13 years!
The bottom line is that you guys can argue about BuT it’S pArT FiRe! and it will get you nowhere. The Codex was implemented specifically to change spells that belong to the “Fire” school. Just because Shadowflame spells have some “flame” in them, doesn’t change the fact that it’s an entirely different school.
The most baseless and pointless posts on any class forums definitely take the cake when it comes to the Warlock section

For the shadowflame bs talk from ealier: Hand of guldan is shadowflame but the spell is green and purple, so demonbolt should be green and purple as well.
