Personally think it’s about time this gets adressed by a dev.
There are currently 3 active threads going on. 2 on the US forum and 1 on the EU.
Thank you for the EU link, I’m glad to see there’s a thread there, and it has some really great pointers. Absolutely, a tabard should be designed for S12 (the fact it is missing is absurd). I would like to highlight, though – that I for example don’t have a Glorious Tyranny Enchant on an old weapon in my bags. I vendored it, and the elite pieces from S15 I had on my Druid before the Wardrobe implementation in the Warlords prepatch, and I am unable to retrieve them to this day. I’m not sure exactly what the solution could be: Whether new achievements would be retroactively granted that would unlock the illusions (e.g. FoS Marshal: Season 15 – would also be a cool opportunity to make new titles for old seasons though they could create confusion with the new ‘Season-name Marshal’ Blitz Glad/Legend equiv.). There could perhaps be a ticket system, where you could ask a quick check of your achievements to unlock / mail the illusion. There are many options, and I hope it will indeed be addressed at some point, because it’s been over a decade and it would help motivate people who have earned their rewards. It could potentially even bring some players back into the game.
Yea, no problem with the link, all the attention it can get is great.
And yea, good points. Retroactive achievements should award the illusion, or people who has the enchant etc. should be able to make a ticket and claim it.
Also, remember to make ingame suggestions, that might help our cause!
I’ve made many suggestions, tickets and posts and comments over the years… I’d even say some of my suggestions on ability changes have been heeded, believe it or not. Unfortunately, never on this issue have I received a positive response. We just gotta keep it afloat and hope.
Yea I could imagine quite a few suggestions over the years by players, yet no answer from a dev whatsoever. I guess implementing irrelevant tabards from Timewalking etc. is more important than looking into their old players wishes.
Bump for a good cause. 3 active threads yet no support or feedback from a dev.
Weekly bump for awareness! Let’s keep the thread alive and hope for a dev to look into this for us.
bump, never letting this die!
Bump. With the upcoming focus on MoP classic, its a perfect time for Blizz to do something about this
Thank you for bumping!
I saw a post on the PvP forums suggesting character transfers from the upcoming Mists of Pandaria Classic to ‘Retail’ to gain the Enchant as an illusion. I’d like to emphasize that, as improbable as that would be, it would be a completely inadequate solution towards resolving this issue.
To remind all, the problem with Glorious Tyranny is that it originally required 2200 rating in any Rated PvP bracket during Mists of Pandaria. When it was re-added in Warlords as an illusion, and then retroactively granted in Legion patch 7.3 – in both times, the ‘fix’ had skipped over a large number of players who had originally qualified for the enchant.
The ONLY acceptable fix long-term is one that encompasses ALL cases, where the illusion would be unlocked or mailed to all characters who had qualified in MoP. This could be done either via mail, an automated or personal ticket system, or, if possible – a fix that would take the date of achievements into account and unlock the illusion for eligible accounts.
I appreciate the attention and passion of all who care about this issue. Although the appearance of the illusion had also slightly changed, those of us who had worked for that appearance back in the day have been waiting for a decade, or even longer, to see it fixed and become redeemable. A half-baked fix is no fix at all, for those players who have been arbitrarily left out as a matter of oversight. Therefore, I and hopefully others will continue to advocate here and in other threads over time, until the real and profound scope of this issue is officially noticed. WoW prides itself on being an MMORPG where progress is saved and skill is rewarded. This should encompass ALL achievements fully, justly rewarding them.
The introduction of the Wardrobe system in the Warlords prepatch had irrevocably slanted player collections, rewarding some while leaving others behind. To this day, I cannot restore my MoP S15 Druid Elite set either, even though I have ample achievements that prove my eligibility. In my earliest tickets on this issue in Warlords, I had sent screenshots, even Tweets, from others player’s screens – where my character could be clearly seen with the items and the enchant. All I ask is to be able to redeem what I have earned. As a loyal customer of over a decade, this should not be ignored. I am but one example, and I speak here for all of those who have not vocalized this issue but are surely saddened by the same feeling of abandonment. Game systems should not be arbitrary and punishing, but consistent and rewarding. Incentive and reward are core to healthy player psychology and motivation, that is frankly is basic or even amateur game design knowledge.
I hope that this thread and the others on this issue will continue to raise awareness, and that we might someday, finally, see an appropriate fix that will allow us to reclaim our rewards.
Sincerely,
Dextructive,
Marshal (2200 RBG rating) of Season 15, originally an owner of the Bloody Dancing Steel PvP Enchant in August 2014.
I saw a post on the PvP forums suggesting character transfers from the upcoming Mists of Pandaria Classic to ‘Retail’ to gain the Enchant as an illusion.
There should not be an option to transfer anything from a Classic realm to a retail one. Give those who have waited 10+ years on retail what they earned, not people who play classic. They can ofcourse, if implemented, get it on classsic, as long as it’s put into retail as well. But I am not gonna spend time on a classic realm, earning this again. We already did that.
Weekly bump. Remember to make ingame suggestions guys…
Keep blizz on their toes
