I’m missing the death’s advance colorations of all 4 factions’ “cosmetic type” transmog items. I also happen to have one character who is revered with death’s advance, the only character that did anything in Korthia. I do have 4 characters with renown 80, but it occurred to me, I could potentially just get exalted on that one guy and do a lap of covenant swaps, bump up to 60 each time with the purchasable token and buy the colorations as part of this lap…
…Right?
Is there something I’m overlooking? I missed the 2nd half of shadowlands and didn’t get to process just how deep they went on letting each character be a multiple-covenant entity.
What’s involved with switching covenants? I think I understood that it’s returning to a covenant that’s a pain? I do want to end up back in the covenant I assigned my main to, but I imagine it’d be faster to swap him around than to grind up death’s advance FOUR TIMES (on my other-covenant alts) to exalted, right?
Do we actually keep the covenant levels on the covenants we leave? I think I recall hearing we do.
Help a brother out here, is my plan to “do a lap” of the covenants and buy some death’s advance transmog sound?
If you have someone with the rep and the renown, might I suggest waiting till after prepatch. At that time, all reps become ‘warbound’ aka account wide. So if youre maxxed with one, all your characters should be maxxed. You can farm and funnel anima to that one main with all the rep and then see (after the patch) if you can buy them all. Or just transfer the anima to your characters to buy the things.
See I did think of that, but as of now the only promised retro reps to go warband wide are Dragonflight, right? Or did they commit to shadowlands? I know covenants aren’t going warband (they’re “InDivIDuaL ChOicEs!”) but maybe death’s advance will. At the very least, I should potentially just start the journey to exalted and then wait to see what happens to SL reps at prepatch.

Can’t check. The PTR servers are down and beta is being beta with Warband stuff. It’s not showing correctly for rep or currencies.

This just confirms what they’ve said publicly since Blizzcon. Dragonflight reps will be warbound at the beginning of the expansion then they’ll work backwards through all the older ones. So it won’t be at the beginning of the expansion, but whenever they add more, Shadowlands should be next.

But for the Death’s Advance transmog sets you need Stygia instead of Anima, not sure if they become warbound. They’re a pita to farm.

You can definately do a Covenant lap. By the end, you are able to keep your renown when you leave a Covenant, you just only get one active Covenant. My priest was working three Covenants for gear.
You lose nothing now to return to a Covenant - you just get one active.
edit: and obv you keep separate resources for each. You may choose to move some anima between Covenants though.
