I mean seriously. 12 chars at max level. Vast majority of them stuck with the free handover ilvl 370 that came with patch 8.2. The fact that they had to give a free handover weapon at the start of the patch is already telling. Weapons are a core part of our character! RNG weapon drops are the best example of Blizzard not evolving and not learning from past expansions. Ok, so you did not want the weapons to have skill trees of their own? Fine. But give me a weapon that grows in ilvl with progression, and i’m sold. No one likes weapon drops. No one likes having other items drop with an ilvl of 440 when my weapon is stuck on last patch at ilvl 370, and only because you gave it to me for free.
Its those kind of things that are frustrating and make me wanna punch a squirrel or something.
Its like how I can get a cool sword on my warlock and I can’t freaking use it because I don’t have a good offhand for it. At least the Legion warlock weapons had a off hand if you were Demonology.
See this is why we cant have nice things. Talking about a crippling problem that affects most people specially alts in that they cannot get a weapon to match the rest of their gear at all, and this guy is going “but mah slots”…jesus…
I hate elitists.
My biggest complaint with artifact weapons was being forced into the “savior of the world” hero archetype. Was funner when you were a regular soldier/adventurer imo
I didn’t mind artifact weapons that much. In fact, I liked how the relic slots essentially meant that “weapon” drops were still a thing, and the shared relic types meant there was always someone in the raid who could use it. There weren’t any situations like a bow dropping without any hunters in the raid or a rogue winning daggers that weren’t an upgrade that he couldn’t trade away since nobody else could use them.
My only issue with artifact weapons was the fact that AP wasn’t shared between specs, locking you into 1 spec unless you wanted to regrind AP. Luckily, that issue was completely solved at the end of legion since artifact knowledge was so high.
A lot of people actually like receiving weapon drops, a lot of people aren’t trying to maintain 12 characters at max level with reasonable levels of gear.
It might benefit you not to have weapons but not many people may be in the same situation as you.
I loved Artifacts. It just sucks that what we have now is literally just a lazily copy-pasted system that we had at the end of Legion that got rid of tier sets for some reason.
