I’m officially pissed. Not only is this entire event ridiculously buggy and unfun, but now Onyxia can completely bug out and give zero credit.
Because there’s a random mob stuck in the ground evading, Onyxia will periodically start evading. This happened RIGHT as she was about to die, after a twenty minute fight (because the scaling is atrocious and designed by interns), and it caused every single player to get zero credit for the kill.
This is such a massive embarrassment. Thank you for wasting my time and effort, Blizz.

So zone out and back in and do it again. nice thing about this event it happens over and over again. Sometimes zoning sends you to a different shard.

This doesn’t really make it any better, unfortunately. Because the scaling is so horrible, it takes roughly 45 minutes to complete a single event. The final boss always takes around 20 minutes, 30 minutes if it’s Lich King.

I legit get in three bosses per hour usually. idk where you are getting 45 minutes.

It’s possible to kill the mob, I tend to do it when I am there but sometimes it can be difficult if it keeps targeting others and evading back out. Yes, it is annoying and it would be nice if Blizzard would fix the spawn point of the mob so that it isn’t in the ground but I’d say that is highly unlikely to happen. Just if you see her evade for 1-2 seconds then hopefully someone will stand on top of the bugged mob until it de-targets whoever it is targeting and start meleeing it until it dies so it stops evading out Onyxia. If not then odds are when Onyxia dies, credit won’t be given. Sometimes it will teleport out of the ground and on top of whoever it is aggroed to and if there is enough AoE there, it will immediately die, otherwise, it just ports back into the ground and evades which causes any mobs who are also engaged in combat with that player to also evade (Onyxia).

Fortunately, I’m almost done. I just need 8000 more memories to finish buying everything. I had fun with the event until they added health scaling.

I’m not sure what you’re confused by? The scaling is broken. Onyxia’s health went from 190k starting, to over 11 million by the time people were tagging her - from my perspective, on my level 30 alt at least. There are always hordes of lowbies that hit the boss that screw up the scaling. They deal no damage, so the fight just becomes a half hour slog.

Hasn’t happened to me yet and it is far from NOT fun. You literally fly around nonstop killing or doing events and then the bosses. It’s a never-ending currency pinata and it’s wonderful.
I’m leveling my non MoP remix alts like crazy now AND getting 450+ gear from the memories to boot!

y’all must have bad luck with shards.
All the ones i’ve done we get 3 or 4 end boss spawns in the hour.
I’ve leveled 4 alts to 70 from 10, just my DH left at 54.

There’s been a few times on the small events that usually give 200-225 memories that I only get 25 and was participating the whole time.
He has at times completely frozen, stopped attacking and just sits at half health for a while.

The sharding does not seem to be cross-realm. A high-pop server like Proudmoore is going to easily get groups that can kill 3 bosses/hour. A low-pop server like Duskwood is going to struggle to kill a single boss because it took 45 minutes to get the progress bar down to 0% and they only have 15 min to kill a 20-30 min boss (so there’s a possiblity it will despawn and give no credit).
Cross-realm sharding with min/max population controls per shard would solve this problem, but that clearly isn’t implemented (or is not working intended if they actually tried).

… Wow, you know what, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t even think about it - I used Chromie Time to make certain transmog usable, and I didn’t switch it back. Lich King is still a little annoying lol but leagues better than it was.
