Remember when Sylvanas was likeable?

Garrosh was right.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
She’s a strong independent dead elf who doesn’t need a (dead human) man.
Can’t wait for EPL Part Deux. Bye bye simpster.

She started off as a snotty, annoying elf who was entirely too smug for her own good, and she’s only gone downhill from there in her goth phase. It’ll be nice when she’s gone.

For me never… i find sylvanas unlikeable since Warcraft 3, her personality its just too annoying

Hot take; she was never likable.

I will never forgive her for killing the man with the greatest hat in Azeroth.

According to his Novel the Death Knight Arthas was quite willing to negotiate with the High Elves(he was quite willing to negotiate with the Paladins aside from Uther who he wanted dead) and it was Sylvanas who aggravated him.

In Warcraft 3 itself he also claimed that he gave the High Elves multiple chances at surrender for attacking him and that their deaths are for their constant stubborn refusal.

If Sylvanas attempted to even feign negotiations(she is quite capable of laying traps) her people could have been saved!

Imagine a Timeline where Quel’Thalas negotiated with Arthas:

  1. Kel’Thuzad is revived without tainting the Sunwell
  2. Discussions are made leading to the discovery that Kel’Thuzad & Arthas plan on undermining the Legion
  3. The Scourge leaves Quel’Thalas which bolsters it’s defenses to defend against an attack by the Legion.
  4. Dalaran as usual has to defend itself from the Scourge while Kael’thas simply leaves Dalaran to it’s demise while gloating at how both Kingdoms destroyed by Arthas(Lordaeron and Dalaran) were ones that decided not to assist him(Jaina and Uther refused to back Arthas up in Northrend which led to him losing his Soul taking away his morals while he was talked by Ner’zhul into joining the Scourge).
  5. Legion(including Archimonde the Right Hand of Sargeras) is summoned as usual and invades Kalimdor to use the Well of Eternity to summon Sargeras only to be defeated as usual while Quel’Thalas remains relatively unharmed aside from the Dead Scar.

Sylvanas had indeed doomed her people when she refused to negotiate!

When, again?
Playing thru the games story lines Sylvanas has kinda always annoyed me…like Khadgar does…like Illidan does…like that irritating dwarf that always follows me around trying to show me stuff does.
Sylvanas is just more annoying than the rest.

really ? She tried to defend her people .She died and tried to take revenge …How is that not interesting or how can someone not like it?

Because to quote a much better realized villain, “Revenge is a suckers game”.

Just realized he reminds me of the Crimson Chin from Fairly Odd Parents

I still like her

Yeah she really blew with all that its like if she can’t have a happy connection no other Forsaken can, She was lucky he was there Malfurion was gonna send her to the Shadowlands before the expansion hit and her burning down Teldrassil was stupid even Nathano’s her number 1 bootlicker was caught off guard by that order what a way to waste soldiers, supplies and everyone’s time when they got nothing to gain from it.

Is she not still likeable? We don’t really know what her endgame is yet, so I don’t think it’s really fair to pass the judgment just yet. Then again I haven’t really been keeping up with SL developments.

I don’t like how Blizzard is handling her. I don’t like the idea of her having a redemption arc or the idea of her going full villain, but I think there’s some middle-ground in there that can end up working really well.

@title: lol not really

Sylvanas arguably was more popular of a character before Cataclysm. I don’t think she’s too popular of a character anymore.

A number of things have contributed to Sylvanas becoming more unlikable over time, but the Burning of Teldrassil was the last straw for a lot of people.

At this point in time, Sylvanas is a villain who pretty much has to be bought to justice somehow. Most likely, she will probably be killed off in Shadowlands by Tyrande.

The Undead identity, themes, and aesthetics will likely be dramatically changed as a result as well, which is where a lot of the issues with Calia come from.

I played WC3 as a kid and thought Sylvanas was really cool. I was obsessed with elven rangers at the time, and her loss from woodland defender to forsaken banshee endeared me to her. She fought heroically and then, in the early days, seemed like a tragic, strong-willed, and not-entirely-lost character. I also digged the forsaken/undead aesthetic so an undead elven ranger was just about the most badass thing ever.

I could never afford to play WoW during my youth. I started playing in late Legion and my created my first character: an undead woman hunter named “Sylranah.”

Now I’m looking forward to taking her down, but I still miss those early days, even if it’s just kid nostalgia.

I am quite sure her underwear still sells for a nice price on the Black Market Auction House.

They could be sold for a starting price of 250k, by the time the bid is finish, you have just enough to buy the Brutasaur mount.
That’s only selling one, a Panty Raid on Sylvanas’ house in Duskwood is gaurenteed to make you a millionaire, but best of luck breaking in, she have really good eyes and ears.

To honestly cut to the chase, her recent actions only left her fanbase quite divided, but she still have one who still adores her.

What is dead may never die.

You mean the Sylvanas who actually had a plan and worked in secret. Always having plausible deniability. But now a secret plan that requires plot armor and unexplained actions from others. Doing everything in the open while twirling her villain mustache.
The old Sylvanas would have found the Forsaken who ran away and kill them and burn their bodies in the Human settlements. Blaming the humans and warning the Forsaken you can never go home.
The old Sylvanas would have secretly planted firebombs in Teldrassil. Then blame the Alliance for mishandling Azerite. Claiming Anduin cannot be trusted with such powerful weapons.
