Remember when Ion said that the Alliance would be getting unique flying mounts to rectify all the Horses we got?

As I literally just said:

Everything in the PTR files points towards us raising the bee mount as Alliance.

Considering everything at Mildenhall is aggressive as Horde, and it includes reputation turn ins, it’s highly unlikely they will be capable of doing it. It’s most likely the Alliance’s Kua’fon. AKA if you complete it as Alliance, you’ll be able to summon it as Horde.

Considering if you do the Bumbles questline, we learn there’s a Growth Serum for Bees, we’ll most likely do an experiment to raise a Bee using 30 days of Growth Serum.

And? Even if we do get the Bee, we’re still one mount behind on faction-specific quest mounts.

To say nothing of the fact that rather than add the unique flying fauna like parrots that Ion mentioned we got recolored Gryphons from 7 years ago.

The Horde got a diverse collection of easily obtainable ground and flying mounts in 8.0, all of which used models new to BFA. Alliance got one Horse model we already had with saddles copy pasted from other mounts. Ion himself admitted the Alliance got shafted, so why exactly are we getting shafted again in 8.2?

Literally unplayable for the alliance now. Time to xfer to the horde

So…

This was a lie then?

Try to actually read what I’m saying rather than jumping to conclusions. I’m arguing that we’re getting screwed two different ways.

1.) Our rep mounts need to be unique BFA models like the blue parrot, rather than recolors of a mount we’ve had for almost a decade.
2.) We need an equal number of faction quest mounts to balance out the mount collection achievements.

Had you bothered to look at my original post, I was clearly saying there were two distinct issues, neither of which Blizzard has done anything about.

It’s also the first push of the PTR. There’s still likely 3 more months before live.

If you think they won’t add more stuff to the PTR, you must be new to the game.

On top of that, there’s already a discrepancy in the mounts available in-game, for those who missed the Azeroth Chopper promotion. Alliance have an extra mount available in the game, in the form of their motorcycle.

So if you want to get technical, the Direhorn could be seen as evening out the discrepancy caused by that. Yes, Horde who have the chopper from that promotion have an extra one, but that’s not many Horde.

The alliance have access to their chopper, it just costs gold. So not really extra

You know where I heard that before? During the 8.0 beta when everyone said the Alliance horses were placeholders.

There were 10 million active players when that competition took place (myself included). It’s a large portion of the playerbase, and is in no way “not that many”

How many of them still play?

The event was during MoP, so I’d say it’s a safe estimate to say that a least a few million of them are still playing.

And definitely enough to make the “well Horde can’t get it any more so it’s ok to shower them in extra mounts” argument completely bogus.

Re-read what I said. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was saying that the direhorn is likely meant to be equalizing the discrepancy that the fact the Alliance have an extra one, if you missed the Horde Chopper.

The amount of people who still play that still have the chopper I’d wager are not that many.

You actually think that as little as 1/5th of the playerbase hasn’t been playing since MoP? First of all I’d bet the actual number is far higher than 1/5th, secondly even if it is ONLY 1/5th that’s 1 million horde with the chopper right there. And that’s absolutely too many to justify showering them in additional free mounts.

Nah… I want a dire horse

I can say I hate that guy?

As unhappy as I am with the current situation, we are far more likely to encourage change if we criticize the decisions being made rather than the people making them.

It’s in the top 150 most owned mounts. Compared to 14% of the playerbase who own the Alliance version. I mean, maybe the new Horde mount should cost 100,000 gold, too, since that’s what the Alliance chopper costs. Gotta make it even, somehow, right?
