Remember when Blizz didn't give Nightborne dark ranger customization because their ears bend a different way?

My farms remembers.

Nightborne dark rangers make as much sense as void elf dark rangers but Nightborne didn’t get dark ranger customization because, unlike blood elves and void elves, Nightborne and Night Elves aren’t a direct port of each other. Nightborne models are very slightly different from Night Elves so making dark ranger customization for them would have taken a teensy amount of extra work they just couldn’t be bothered with.

Instead, all Alliance elves get dark ranger customization and only blood elves on Horde, the faction that created dark rangers, get the customization. Dollars to donuts at some point Demon Hunters will be opened up to Void Elves because they’re the same as blood elves but Nightborne won’t get it because they aren’t exactly the same as Night Elves and it would take a tiny bit of extra effort.

Sometimes I think we should be able to earn the Salty title through the forums.

They actually don’t make any sense.

Void elves do, however. Let me explain.

You can play as a void elf since BFA, fighting along the alliance. On the Darkshore. We see as the result of this war more dark rangers being brought up. With night elves. While we personally don’t see a void elf get risen it does make sense some died and got used as dark rangers. Only returning to the alliance once Sylvanas is ‘‘dealt’’ with and no longer leading them. Much like the night elves.

I know this most likely seems unfair to you. Considering your points about void/blood elves being the same but ‘‘not’’ night elves/nightborn.

But the thing about that is high elves were alliance, the horde is rather lucky lore wise to even have blood elves despite how old this lore is. And was most likely done in the first place so horde had a more human ish race among their ranks. Something that very clearly has worked given just how many blood elf players make up the horde.

Same could easily be said for Nightborne. Sylvanas showed she was more than willing to raise Horde members in undeath, plus there was all the time before the Nightborne joined the Horde when we were making tons of Nightborne corpses doing our dailies. Nothing to stop Sylvanas from raising some Nightborne here and there. Easily as many as void elves. It really does just come down to the extra effort they couldn’t be bothered with.

Historically dark rangers or darkfallen have been very important to the forsaken which makes them important to the horde.

Alternatively they could have just made darkfallen blood elves an allied race and dodged this situation.

Considering the fact that void elves rangers could just simply be blood elves that joined the alliance lore wise vs never seeing a nightborn even in the darkshore I do think they’re different.

That being said I couldn’t agree with you more, I want a dark ranger human like her boy toy. I’ve had a thing for him since I first saw him and playing a DK isn’t my thing.

I deeply hope we have some in general for every race. You have a valid point about any race being able to be risen as far as I know and we srly see races being risen but not given like humans.

I suspect that there will be a day, perhaps after Last Titan where we see the “Big Crunch” again, but this time related to Races. Alliance and Horde as factions / specific cities only X race can go into, will probably go away during these World Revamps. So we’ll see Dwarves merged, Blood Elves Merged, and pretty much every race that has a double condensed into a single group, with racials working like they do with Man’ari. It just makes sense tbh.

Not saying it’s a good idea, just saying it won’t shock me when / if it happens.

Where did Blizz say ears were why a skin color couldn’t happen?

Nightborne weren’t at the War of Thorns. Thus, no undead Nightborne.
