Remember the last time we voted for a mount?

The way things were handled for that contest was terrible… and the law they are being held to that prevents adding the horde mount to an in-game vendor is messed up… especially since Blizzard could have very easily circumvented it by simply stating that the mount will be available for free for a short period after which it will be added to a vendor in game… now because they didn’t make that one call they are stuck waiting until 10 years have passed before they can add it to a shop without violating that law…

As a result… horde players who missed the freebie window feel cheated… especially since the alliance chopper got added to an in game vendor at a later date, and is still available…

But you can still get the Alliance mount. So isn’t it Horde who got screwed even though they won?

alliance got an arguably more badass or at the very least equal mount that isn’t limited time.

A friend was telling me about a buddy of his who just recently started playing, and saw my friend on his Horde bike, and the friend (playing Horde) asked where he got that and how he could get one.

The answer was, of course, “The Horde won a contest, so you can’t get it anymore, but the Alliance lost, so they can still get theirs.”

And, of course, the friend did a double-take, because that makes no sense.

They could always do a recolor yes no? and yes how it was handled was a lot of hot garbage.

I have them both and i still thinks its stupid.

not just any mount, a mount that can jump in place! very useful for elevators, where you want a single jump to get on the platform.

Horde one looks worse on top of not being obtainable anymore. I remember I didn’t play WoD until the back end of Highmaul and didn’t get it :frowning:

Unlikely… since a recolor would still be viewed as “the same product” as far as the law is concerned… but once the contest is officially 10 years past, they can add it to a vendor at zero risk…

The really messed up thing though, is that a law even exists to prevent a company from “selling” a contest prize after the contest is over… but nothing prevents them from “selling” a “prize” that lost the contest…

ooooof that is … well ooooof! :frowning:

As others have said, the Alliance got the better end of the stick there. They can still get theirs.

Horde got a free time sensitive bike that no longer exists and cannot be brought back into the game due to California prize law.

Alliance got another mount which is brought into the game and capable of being bought off a vendor because it was a sign of good faith that both mounts were brought in the game, and because this one wasn’t a winning prize, the Alliance can purchase it whenever they want, despite many Horde players who didn’t log in back then wishing they had the same option.

You can’t really complain about this one, chief. Bad form.

so…
Expect the tree to be free, but only be around a limited time, and the others to be bought for 100k gold each?

At the time of release, ya 100k was a lot. Now it’s not so bad. I’ve almost got 600k from doing…Not much in this expansion alone plus if you abused the gold making tables from Legion and WoD it’s chump change. So spend a few weeks doing old raids to make 100k and buy the mount or not be able to get it ever?

I don’t even remember the last time I voted for a king.

Didn’t alliance eventually get their bike? I can’t remember

that horde mount was so ugly too. its a kid’s tricycle lol. atleast the alliance mount looked like a cool scarab chopper.

yes, it was added to a vendor for a hefty sum of gold. Still haven’t bought it, it looks kinda ugly imo.

actually the alliance won  the horde got a mount they can’t get anymore and alliance can get it anytime they want.
