Funny how few posts there have been lately about the wonder of NW and how much better it is than WoW…
Probably because New World is a total train wreck.
While WoW has a few bugs now and then, they are on a completely different level in NW. There are bugs that wipe people’s gold off the AH, exploits that make it impossible to win a major pvp event, mass reporting to get the opposition leader suspended so they cant take part in battles, being able to freeze characters through the player’s game client and now apparently a new one that allows a certain action in the game that kicks other players out of their game.
Its actually, literally, game breaking. This is a game that is more like some cheap crowd funded effort pushed out to make a quick buck by some hole-in-the-wall development group than its a game made by one of the biggest companies in the world. The mistakes are so amazing, the revelations of them are entertainment in themselves. To say NW wasnt ready for release is true enough, but the basic design errors are so ridiculous its even worse than that. If New World was a car, it would be recalled and destroyed because of its total flawed systems.
New World didn’t kill WoW; it actually highlights how much better WoW is, for all its issues. WoW’s problems are purely a matter of style while NW’s are entirely substance.

The problem with NW is that Amazon made all the classic MMO mistakes that were made by all previous MMO’s that came before it.
Actually, it reminds me of WoW when WoW was new, and I simply realize I don’t expect a highly polished product on release, just like WoW was a total ****show back in the day. As long as the dev team in NW shows they’re actually willing to fix things, that already makes it leaps and bounds above WoW today.
I wouldn’t so far to say that. I just think Amazon really dropped the ball on the launch and needed a few more hours in the oven. From what i can tell, it’s a decent game.
With that said, nobody is gonna learn from this, huh?

The thing that puzzles me is not so much that it has bugs (even the most well designed games launch with some bugs) its that these are core design flaws. Im not technically experienced but my understanding is that a lot of the gameplay is designed to sit on the client files, which opens the game up for a heap more exploiting than normal. When you can manipulate the game to affect other players directly (not just through actions within normal gameplay) that shows an inherent lack of understanding of game design and the capabilities of players to entirely screw with their product at the slightest opportunity.
Its a bit like putting god codes into a modern game. And every time they try to fix something it cascades into further errors. There are plenty of videos out there showing where their hotfixes created even more problems. The game was obviously released far too early and needs a complete overhaul.
Ffx14 killed wow wows 4 now
