Imagine for a moment that in addition to our player housing, we got to include in our houses a virtual slideshow/webpage of our feats (not feet thank you autocorrect) as well as links to guides and content that we created.

Links are to a reputable site that lets normies or whoever create stuff. And another place for streamers to showcase their content and be invited into their virtual homes.

Have the wallpaper covered in pineapple pizza. A few cat gifs. A JavaScript that let’s you play your favorite in game song

I had a geocities page all about Calvin and Hobbes.

It is gone now.

Can’t even find it on the wayback machine.

midi was where it’s at!

also, under construction gifs, page counters, guest books and the infamous <marquee> tag lol (that was removed when the HTML5 standard released about 17 years ago)

I found an old system of a down fan site a while back. I can’t remember if it was geocities or what, but it was an awesome relic. It was from when they had just their first album. So like late 90s.

I accepted my fate of being old when Mr. Brightside randomly played on youtube and I thought I recognized the girl in the video. A quick google search later, I realized she was in Coyote Ugly and I was stunned to learn the 2 were made only 3 years apart over 20 years ago.

Turns out it was angelfire. I just got home and knew I had it bookmarked. But I checked and it looks like it’s gone now! This is a tragedy! It survived for two decades, and just a year or less after I found it, it’s dead! I’m honestly really sad about this. It felt like a time machine to my youth :frowning:
