Remember figure prints?

FigurePrints is the company Blizzard licensed to make figures of your WoW characters. Only problem is they take about a year to ship your figure and sometimes not at all and if they do many of them are broken. They don’t seem to respond to peoples emails.

See the comments on their facebook page.

I mean I think it would be cool to get a figure of my character but really Blizzard needs to give this license to another company that will do an actual good job. Because its not really acceptable to have shipping times that are over 1 year and have no communication with customers. And to take peoples money and not ship them anything.

Oh really? Iv’e looked into them before but after reading this I’ll have to check out the complaints before I even consider placing an order.

You can recreate your character model and equipment in wowmodelviewer, export it to an .obj, shape up and tweak that model in blender, print that model with a 3d printer, then smooth and paint it. It’s a lot of work, but so rewarding.

I’m almost entirely sure this falls under fan art rules as long as you don’t try to sell the figure after.

Yep, I actually own one of this character. I bought it back in Wrath, it didn’t take long for me to get it at all.

It’s kind of a weird rough texture like sandstone, and for the price I am confident that you could do something more detailed with 3d printing now. I’m surprised someone hasn’t set up another company for it actually. Or Blizzard could sell them, I’d love to get one with newer armor!

I thought it would cool to do this… So i downloaded it… Fair warning it corrupted my WoW install which is going through a repair right now.

My guild leader got a figureprint of her main back in Wrath or early Cata, didn’t have to wait very long. Then the character got a race change, and a few years later she decided to get another figure print. It took months for them to do anything with her order; their service was as unresponsive as the OP mentioned. I don’t know why they’ve become like that, but it has deterred me from ordering something through them.

Yeah, they are the absolute worst company to waste that “license” on.

What use is such a paid service, when it takes over a year if they are even taking orders?

As at least one other user said, you’d be better off doing it with a 3d printer.

Still doesn’t support pandaren figures either btw. Been waiting for them to for like 4 years

Ugh yes, Blizz get rid of them. Their quality is bad and it looks like you guys figured out a better 3D printing system when you made that huge display for last year’s Blizzcon when you announced BfA.

One was gifted to me a few years ago. It’s pretty cool. I was thinking of getting one done for my Alliance shaman. The original took about a month from start to finish. Sad to hear it’s taking much longer, especially considering the price.

I bet they couldnt even pull of doing a Demon Hunter if they cant do Pandaren and I only have baby horns.

You can print almost anything from wow with a few simple free programs
1: wow model viewer. the same program nixxiom and other machinema people use.
2: microsoft 3d builder is free and comes with windows

all of this can be used to print decent models on any 3d printer on the market. Right now the best bang for your buck would be an ender 3 kit. they are 2-250 on amazon right now. There are cheaper ones that will work fine even. obviously not in full color but if you have painting skills…

Did you close the model viewer? You can’t run both at once. If you want to, point it to a ptr install

For real though, what can be done about this? This has been a problem for years.

Often thought about getting one of these back in the day. After reading the above I’m glad I missed out. Technology has advanced over the years and I’m sure a new company or Blizzard themselves could put out a better product.

If something like that comes along. I for sure would order one, but in the meantime I’ll keep waiting.
