I think that may be a surprise to many. I dont think it was till BC that blizz gave everyone the same amount of hp. A mage is going to have less health than anyone in plate, or leather for that matter
Mages have less health than anyone period.
As it should be, and as it has always been in RPGing until “modern” game design.
Laughs in Pom Pyro
I dunno my warlock didn’t have too much of a problem finding STA gear in vanilla.
Mages have the lowest HP of all the classes. I actually like that playstyle, though.
There’s plenty of stamina cloth. Sometimes it’s easier to find stam cloth instead of stam mail/plate.
Though yes, base health pools are different for different classes. A mage with +100 stam from gear will have less health than a warrior with +100 stam from gear.
But what about mail? =P
Clothies may have the least health but rogue is the squishiest class in the game.
Its just how itemization was, the more int and spirit heavy pieces often had very low stam (if any). You could easily stack stam gear on any class. But with casters this often led to OOMing really fast (with the exception of warlock).
That didn’t happen till wrath.
I remember it was advised that priests put on extra stam pieces to avoid a one shot on najentus.
Because we play naked for ultimate BM
And here I thought this was about plate wearers grabbing up cloth (Spelladins) and leather (Fury Warriors).
I miss the days when there were actual differences between the armor classes. So glad we’ll be getting that back.
I liked my mage bars looking like this:
[-hp-]
[---------------------------mp-------------------------------]
Having more HP than MP just doesn’t feel right on a caster/healer.
As a hunter, I have fond memories of running around in “of the falcon” gear.
Stamina? I don’t need no stinkin’ stamina. I gots me a pet and an Olympic sized mana pool.
Yeah, of all the classes, hunters benefit from stamina the least while leveling, as their pet does most the tanking. And it’s still good on pvp servers for obvious reasons.
Warlocks would be in the same boat, but ya know, lifetap. And the voidwalker isn’t as good at tanking.
For everyone else, stamina is great. Especially for soloing elites/high levels. It’s not a dump stat until 60 pve for non-tanks.
It’s not uncommon to see cloth with agility. I guess they thought casters might want some extra dodge.
And spirit. OMG… they must have thought spirit was going to be this wonder stat coveted by everyone. It’s everywhere… including on warrior and rogue gear.
That’s good.
It’s probably just a remnant from when spirit increased procs in the vanilla beta.
