Remeber when we got blue posts?

It was a good time when Blizzard would talk to its player base; now we get one guy who I really think might be AI, like all the other GMs. And we barely get anything from them.

Was it? What about it did you like? Do you have any examples or favorites?

rose-tinted lenses, Kerpz.

‘World of Burgercraft’ was the biggest meme post on the Warcraft forums ever for a reason

I appreciated ghostcrawler’s posts.

I get why a corporation might want to limit those interactions now. Every innocuous reply can be taken out of context, posted on socials, and possibly have financial implications. But it really would be nice to get an update every once in a while if it helps players make decisions about the game. Like how long did the chrono-boondoggle go on before anyone had any clue what was happening…

The lack of blue posts and the lack of real GMs is eye-opening

This company does not care about the customers.

I just watched a youtube video about a former gm talking about how he got fired for focusing too much on banning bots/ restoring zombie accounts used by bot farms.
This was during og cata, its only gotten worse

there was a blue post a few years back that said they’re opting for a less communicative approach due to toxicity/not much gain from frequent blue posting, can’t remember where it was but just look at the RL threats that one dev got a few weeks back on X or whatever for posting about the BC gold farm nerf

Not saying it’s right but it makes sense to me

I appreciated all the excitement his posts were greeted with. The angst just mention of his name generated was hilarious.
But better was his “alter ego”.
Having one little claw and one big claw means you’re a boy crab!

microsoft laid off everyone…

There are people here who haven’t been offline in 20 years and would very much ruin a GM’s life for something petty, I woulnd’t recommend them communicating either.

Yes, I do remember those days. I remember when Vanilla originally launched before Blizzard had sold out, each class on the forums had their own moderator I believe. They would respond to many comments on the forums and they would take feedback back to the developers. They could even check people’s accounts, I remember I was once accused by a troll of being two characters posting on the forums because our toons’ names both started with the same prefix. The moderator at the time actually checked and confirmed with everyone in the thread that I was indeed, not the other player. Those were such beautiful times.

Now we live in a world where our balls have been polluted with microplastics, we drink water contaminated with PFAS, oceans have been overfished and moderators don’t even look at the WoW forums. Society is breaking down, collapse is on the way. Enjoy the good times because they will soon disappear.

Blizzard makes posts all the time for the live game.

Some people cannot understand that these Classic modes are museum pieces. They are finished games. There is no content being added to the game or large changes being made. They are not going to give your hot takes and wish lists any consideration - that is not what these game are.

What is there for them to say? We already know everything important about Anniversary, SoD is apparently done. Blizzard does not post news and updates about things that are still months away except for new expansions that are in Beta with an expected release date.

Most of the problems with Classic are player created. Is Blizzard supposed to swoop in and make heavy handed changes for every way players ruin the game for themselves? We’d like to see something done about botting and RMT but neither of those are something that they are going to give public news about until they have done something about it. Maybe they have given up to a degree because Classic players insist on finding new ways to be degenerates.

These forums have been toxic for 20 years, and some Blizzard employees in the early days said some pretty crazy things in response. I’m pretty sure they would have some kind of process to get messages to the players approved before they can post.

I miss Ghostcrawler :frowning:

Every blue post is followed by an avalanche of complaints. A vocal minority.

well we’ve only been waiting what 6 months now for a RESPONSE to the AQ event not working right. Little lone everything else that’s broken in just this version of classic. I mean 2019 wasn’t this bad.

Even that guy who changes the lightbulbs

they do not care. As far as they are concerned, classic is on life support. They do the absolute bare minimum (and even that is questionable) because they know the classic player base will gobble up whatever slop is offered.

Well that’s a shame.

When does or did your sub run out?
Appreciate your insights.

If I was a GM I’d avoid these forums like the plague too.
