Please bare with me because I don’t know the exact lingo to describe my issue/queston about the add-on.
The Rematch Add-on is devided into 3 panes. Before I started using the latest updated add-on, I had it set up so that my tabs were on the far right border of the display window, and when I would choose a tab I would see all the teams I saved to that category (tab). Example, my “Pandaria” tab has all my pet battle items I use in Pandaria on that tab.
Previous to the update, I would click a tab I wanted and in in the 3rd (right side) pane I would see ONLY the teams I had saved to that tab. However, after the update, in that third (right hand) pane I now see all the Pandarin teams but also a line for each of the other tabs (not just Pandaria).
Is there a way to make the right hand pane show ONLY the teams in the tab I selected? It use to work that way before the update and I can’t figure out how to fix it.
Many thanks
In Rematch 4, tabs acted as containers for teams. You only ever saw teams when you were in a tab.
In Rematch 5, groups are containers for teams and exist alongside other groups in a collapsable list. Tabs are now merely bookmarks to jump to and expand those groups.
The team tabs were a major limitation with Rematch 4 due to their limited amount. As time goes on and expansions get added, we tend to pile more and more teams into the same tabs and it sort of defeats the purpose of using them to organize teams.
With no limit on the number of groups, you can make separate groups for each family familiar type, or each expansion and family familiar, or each battle pet dungeon, or separate ones for legendary or dailies, or you could even make one group for several variations of Squirt teams. This wasn’t practically possible in Rematch 4.
It’s been brought up that having all teams in a list takes up unnecessary space. Technically, it takes up at most 26px. Since a list of teams that exceeds the height of the scroll frame will have a header at the top (until scrolled away from it); and a shorter list of teams that doesn’t exceed the height of the scroll frame would’ve had blank space where the other headers display.
Can there be more tabs at least? Possible. I really dislike scrollable side tabs like that since it’s unintuitive and doesn’t make sense from a WoW UI perspective. (I’d prefer a list to the side to replace those spellbook-like tabs).
Can it go back to the old way where the list of other groups isn’t there? Unlikely, sorry. While there have been many iterations over the three years of Rematch 5’s development (for a long time, there were going to be no team tabs at all anymore), I’m pretty happy with the way teams can be organized now. And while there are literally over a hundred options, making an option to change a foundational part of the addon into something completely different would be a huge task. If there’s widespread dislike I can consider alternatives but it very likely won’t be Rematch 4’s tab method and it would take many weekends to do.

Many thanks to you Gello for explaining the situation, and for giving us pet battlers such an important tool. I understand now why it is the way it is, and I’ll still enjoy the add-on going forward. It won’t be difficult at all to get accustomed to the new format but I just had to ask if it was possible to customize that 3rd panel in case I was missing something.
