Remap right-mouse button?

Does anyone know if there’s a way to remap the right mouse button while dragon-riding?
My pinky finger gets completely cramped within seconds because I have to hold down that button. It would be sort of nice to have an option to remap that key to something on my keyboard instead.

wat

Are you missing some fingers?

I have acute arthritis. So yes, I have a physical limitation. Having to hold down the button constantly like that is difficult and painful.
It’s also quite different from playing and fighting, or even regular mounted flying, where you don’t have to constantly hold that button down.

Are you absolutely incapable of empathizing with other people who have physical limitations?

lol!

OP, please post a pic of how you hold your mouse, i am so curious now!

My aren’t we a bit over-sensitive.

And here, I was going to answer your question, but nah, forget it.

I use a trackball. I have for pretty much the last 30 years. I have limited amount of desk space because of the equipment I need for work at my computer.

But I’m glad that rather than making constructive suggestions you’d prefer to try and ridicule and mock someone.

I can see how people walk away from the forums talking about how insanely toxic the forum participants are.

Bro you went from 0 to 11 on the combative scale real quick.

Nothing that has been said to you yet has warranted these responses.

I have no idea whether you can re-bind something as basic as clicking to move the camera. Do you have another mouse button you’re wanting it bound to?

I was legitimately curious based on limited information. nowhere in your original post do you mention a disability. Actually, this is starting to feel like a pity party thread. good luck finding answers if you are going to bite everyone’s head off for making any sort of comment you dont like

If you have a logitech mouse, you can use the logitech gaming software to rebind keys on your mouse, altough I believe there are better options for keybinding. maybe google keybinding software.

make sure you don’t use one that supports keyboard-macros or sequences, you might get banned. maybe ask the tech forums.

Razer mice have this option via Razer synapse. Can also set it to change options when you enter and get out automatically. I had to do this to my side buttons because they have a weird interaction with macros for some reason.

OP was questioned about missing fingers and asked to provide pictures of his hand. We have no idea what OP is going through, so these questions can be (and were) humiliating. Let’s respect the OP by not bringing them down.

Hi OP, what do you use your right mouse button for? what happens when you press it?

For example, when I use it, it allows me to go up and down and turn left and right.
So, I can just press W A S D instead of right clicking.

Keybinds can be changed by going to your Options, and then Keybindings. You want to check the Movement Keys and maybe Camera Sections.

ahh, thank-you. I’ve never used the W A S D keys before, always moving with my mouse (yes, I’m a mouse-turner).

I’ll have to try that, thank-you.

I’m a mouse turner too! It’s faster
You’re welcome!

no need to jump down anyones throat.
they just asked a question.
it seemed quite reasonable.
not everyone has all their fingers.

LOTS of people have physical limitations, and there are a lot of variations.
It would have been beneficial for you to have given some indication of what you were asking people to work with, when you’re asking for suggestions.

…but it’s cute that you call people toxic when you make massive assumptions about someone for daring to ask a question.

@ Dan, next time, don’t ask.
Just go spy through their window.

In keybinds you can have 2 binds for each item. So find what you want to rebind and bind a secondary key for it. Blizzard added a search function in the settings, making finding stuff even easier!

In case no one has suggested it, look into your trackball customization possibilities. You may be able to get your trackball to interpret, say, shift-click as “click and hold”.

(I use a Logitech trackball, but more for precise cursor positioning than ergonomics.)

I hadn’t thought of that. I’m not sure the trackball software has that much functionality, but its worth a look. Thanks :grinning:

Most operating systems include click-lock as an accessibility option. I don’t know how it works under Windows, but on MacOS you can enable it through System Settings → Accessibility → Mouse → Alternate Pointer Actions. I have F10 set up to do “drag and drop”, which amounts to click-lock. If I want, I can hit F10 and right-click, and that holds down the right button for me, so to speak.

Logitech used to have a click-lock function, but they got rid of it for some weird reason. I’ve got one of the extra buttons set up to do F10 with a left click, which is good enough most of the time.

I haven’t used it for dragon riding yet, but I’m about to give it a try. Mostly I use it in drawing programs for precise positioning of line endpoints.

Edit To Add: Eh, it doesn’t work on my system as well as I’d have hoped. But there are probably third-party click-lock solutions out there.
