I’m presently leveling this DH and I enjoy playing both Havoc and Vengeance. Enough that I frequently alternate playstyles depending on what I feel like doing or if a quest involves killing x number of mobs.
Because of this though I have no idea what would be a good way to balance leveling the artifacts with relics to give the best boost to each without sacrificing too much in terms of overall firepower. What would you guys recommend? Or do I really have to pick on over the other to optimize the strength of my weapon?
Honestly, for leveling, just pick one of the specs and dump your relics into it. You’ll burn through Legion content quick enough anyway, and you’ll replace your artifact literally the instant you start BfA content, since the ilevel you’ll have at the end of leveling in BfA will be inferior to the ~180 ilevel weapon you get from the first questchain in the BfA intro set.
For leveling, I highly recommend Havoc. Both Havoc and Vengeance have similar survivability and mobility, and Havoc simply kills things quicker, even AoE packs.
Okay, thank you! I kind of want to get to BfA content fast anyway on this guy, so I guess I’ll go with the spec I do better at. It is true havoc usually clears everyone out faster, but I could take out epics attacking me together with trash mobs on vengeance so I think vengeance has a bit of an edge with survivability, lol.
I like havoc’s moves better though so I may or may not go with it.
That changes hardcore once you can pick up both Soul Rending and Demonic. Those two combine to make you functionally immortal while soloing unless you massively over-pull. I was regularly pulling and AoEing down 5-8 mobs at a time while leveling through BfA content.
Good to know! I think I’ll definitely be focusing more on Havoc for now. Then I’ll work more on Vengeance when I can use the same weapon for both specs.
