As of right now the Creation Catalyst is set to appear on April 12th 8 weeks after the release of 9.2. After clearing content and working through the raid for 4 weeks killing over 25 Tier bosses and 3 weekly 6+ choice vaults I have yet to recieve a single piece of tier.
While normally each patch has its RNG issues including the Shards. This patch seems even worse especially when you consider classes are tuned around tier piece and double legos. Blizzard had the foresight to put in the Creation catalyst in advance but has placed it implementation to far back. Following week 6 final chapter of Judgement Blizzard should open up the Catalyst.
I know that I am in a minority as far as receiving tier piece as shown by just my own guilds out of 25 tracked players I am one of two that have yet to recieve a piece of tier. However I also have the MOST vault slots secured and the Most Tier boss kills in my guild. The idea that after 6 weeks of 9.2 I should continue to rely on RNG drops for tier, watching entire tier tokens getting bricked because armor slot groups have their 3 piece or 4 piece is absurd.
I know I am not the only player that has experienced this and by no means does this guarantee that. I will have 2 piece or 4 piece next week but it at least let’s me know that I will be able to keep up and compete in the higher level content within 4 weeks.
There is no downside to releasing the Catalyst later and it only detriments the game for those players that have gotten absolutely shafted by RNG. If the catalyst ILvl is an issue put an Ilvl cap on the tier gear at 252 as of right now and increase it weekly until week 8 or what ever you have to do but stop time gating tier from players that are Actively participating in the game.
Yes please. We need more attention on this.
At this point nothing will change. The Catalyst is coming the reset after next. I can’t imagine Blizz moving it up a week to next Tuesday at this late stage.
I think Blizz could at least start us at 2 charges to get some good will back with the players.
Please. I just want to play the complete version of my class already.
It’s so weird to me that people defend this system while many of those same posters likely flipped their lid about twilight devastation.
I think the system at it’s core is fine. If the Catalyst had been released this past Tuesday most of the acquisition issues would be gone.
I’m more concerned about balance between sets and balance in general at this point.
Yes, if not a week earlier, I’m sure there are many other ways to make tier equipment more attainable or at least more deterministic rather than… luck in raids, and more luck in vaults. Some RNG is fun, entirely RNG for something tied very very closely to your performance this patch is not. I care not if it was implemented via more early release, via more initial charges, via rare open world drops, world bosses, or even personal crafting like goggles for BFA. They are all grinds, but you can control your progress to an extent.
RWF is over. 1 Month in, “Getting too much power too early” is no longer a valid reason. People are getting frustrated and burnt out. Performance discrepancies are already negatively affecting gameplay experiences. We’ve seen many posters claim to take a break until catalyst, extend that to the population. Having to be dragged for 3+ months to experience a key attraction for this patch, is nothing short of forcibly extending subscriptions. To this end, people who care are already subscribed to packages. Those who know would have waited to renew subscriptions at a later date. I know that is what I will do personally in the future so I can experience the full extent of what I’m paying for.
It is Frustrating to wait this long when race to world 1st is already over. Everyone included myself are sick and tired not getting tier gears because of bad rng. My poor lock doesn’t have his 2 piece set and he’s my main.

I’m 2/4 because of vault luck and I agree we should have more tier out in the players hands. Catalyst should have been a crutch for 1-2 pieces, not full sets over a month for a decent chunk of the community.
Of the 8 m+ I ran last week, only 3 groups had a dps with 2 pc. All pug groups. We did fine in the content but the acquisition rate is incredibly dumb.
I am hearing you guys. My arena partners and i dont pve that much well they dont and ive had 6 vault options on 4-5 toons every week so far and havent seen one piece of tier.
I dont have a guild or the time to sit there and raid on set times every week nor would i like to. Yet i come up against people whove been blessed by rng and have either 2 or 4 set. SEEMS LEGIT
This unfortunately is not a company that does things to make players happy.
This has been the most common thread type for weeks now, and the community council made a thread and several of them wanted it released.
Totally ignored, gj blizz what little faith you worked to restore in recent months has been completely undone.
Many people have let them know precisely the consequences of their actions/ inactions.
As someone that is always in the “do the content for the reward” camp I must say, this is insane.
People doing content now have to rely on luck. They may as well put the tier in the cash shop.
And yet they continue to not care. What does that tell you about the company we continue feeding money to.
I was kinda hoping they’d do it a week early due to feedback.
