So when do you guys think the next xpac will release? On the pre order it says on or before December 31st, 2020. I don’t think they would release it that late would they?
That is just them saying that it will be released sometime in 2020.
Depends. They released well ahead of the latest date for bfa, but they are getting pretty close to their latest release date for warcraft 3: reforged. It’s just an insurance date incase things don’t move as fast as they hope.
8.3 is(?) at least 3 months away, which puts it to jan-feb I would think? 6 months of that patch with an expansion release date of august… I could see that being a reasonable timeline.
I’ve been curious about that because isn’t BFA behind on schedule?

Sorry but why do you think 8.3 is only going to last 6 months…? The last major content patch is usually long. I don’t see it unless they have explicitly said it won’t be this year and I just missed something. Argus to BFA was a year. Siege of Orgrimmar to WoD was 14 months. IIRC Hellfire Citadel to Legion was a similar amount of time.

You could very well be correct though. Historically, that last patch usually does stick around for a fair while. Perhaps instead we get the prepatch sometime in august, and the expansion itself in Oct-Nov.
That’s a generic placeholder for any game that is being released in a said year, but doesn’t have a solid release date.
We know there’s an 8.3.5 and they try to keep the patch cycles roughly the same, try being the key word.
End of August/Early September as seems usual.
