I am 26 years old right now and I have yet to start a relationship. I have been using dating apps but had no luck.
For those of you that have or had a relationship, how did you meet your significant other?
i met my current gf at one of my old jobs a few years ago. we tried to date but i was in a toxic relationship prior and she was in a toxic relationship currently so it’s not like we could date or anything just hang out.
ironically she contacted me through facebook as i told her it wouldn’t work out unless she left her bf so fast forward to maybe idk 6 years later we are dating now. it’s kind of hard though because she had surgery and can’t hear well nor wears her hearing aid so talking to her is just difficult in person. sometimes she can hear me other times it’s just i guess idk like she never heard me say anything. not really that difficult to communicate but just having a normal conversation is a bit hard.
i think it’s because we both came from toxic relationships that is what made us start dating. i tried to date prior to her but the girl was just idk too needy imo and couldn’t hold a conversation. always wanted to talk on the phone and never seemed to care about what i was talking about always had to be about her. then when i would joke around she would think me immature which i mean yea my jokes are perverted and what not but thats just my sense of humor it’s not as if im immature in general.
either way though i mean im happy im 29 been since prior since my toxic relationship so what 23 at that time. i know a lot of girls from work, mutual friends all that but yea just never was really into any of um or always had something i didn’t like about them like they couldn’t even cook nor wanted to try and cook which for me is a huge thing because i work as a cook i don’t expect a woman to be like a master chef or anything just at least attempt to learn especially since one day i do want kids.
that is why i like my gf. she cooks, she cleans, she is caring, she wants kids eventually, likes animals, etc… she isn’t perfect but hell i’d say she top of my list.
