It dropped, but no achievement pop’d. Then I looked my mount collection, I saw that I already have it, and still no achievement.

There’s two Black Mammoth mounts. It looks like you’ve received the Grand Black War Mammoth drop quite a while ago and do have the achievement for that.
The other one is the Black War Mammoth, which you do not have. This one you simply need to purchase from a vendor in the Winter grasp area.
