The game is so sweaty around 1400 right now. When is the inflation supposed to kick in? In most xpacs I’ve been able to breeze past 14 no problem and work toward 1800 or so at least. Just under 1500 I saw 2-3 people in one night ride in on glad mounts. Feels so bad
Last season shouldn’t never been as inflated as it was.
Glad mounts don’t mean much any more. If you’re intimidated by the mount someone is riding in an arena, you’ve already lost
they botched the mmr on day 1
the good news is that your clothes, food, and shelter are provided by equatorial countries and youre concerning yourself with imaginary numbers in a digital thumb-wrestling match
mmr was fixed like day 3?
Just beginning of the season. Also the gearing system doesn’t help at all. Huge gaps between rival+ geared players this season w/ double leggos and tier and weeks ahead on vaults vs alts from last season at low mmr.
Also yeah. Generally at lower mmrs people on glad mounts are just their alts and are normally about where they belong.
Lmfaooo
1400 is not too bad. 1700+ is a lil sweaty tho, seeing glad mounts every single game is kinda funny.
Unholy is pretty busted right now, idk if that’s what you’re playing. I just went 14-3 with 256 pvp ilvl with a random healer. It doesn’t seem bad
i pushed to 1950 tonight. it was probably one of the most brutal , sweatiest climbs that ive done in a very long time and i think it has to do with blizzard deflating MMR way too much and also i think more pvpers have straight up ditched this game. keep in mind last season i was 2400. this season ill be lucky if i even scratch 2k.
Why? lol I duno, maybe I just don’t get the ‘prestige’ of it all, but it seems weird to me when I read these forums ask Blizzard to make the game less rewarding. It’s a game, people want to log on, fumble around, and get some cool stuff to show for the time they invested.
Take OP for example, guy likes to farm 1800 for an xmog, and call it a season if I’m reading him right. A few months ago there was like a multi-hundred reply thread where people were wanting to move elite sets up by like 4-600 rating. There’s actually people who want OP to get nothing so they can wear the transmog for a few weeks and feel cool, then go back to whatever older elite, or T3 set they own and wear normally.
You guys see how dead the game is right now, right? Making things less inclusive/harder doesn’t help that issue. It drives more people off.
Partially because it messes with perception and causes frustration. Lets say that top 5% last season was 2400, but this season it’s only 2200, and people who got elite/glad don’t know what happened.
I think that it’d be preferable if things remained a little more consistent.
Huh?
The game was a lot more popular when there were fewer and more difficult rewards. The current stuff is the most accessible it has ever been and participation is still in shambles.
No maidens?
The game was also newer with less alternative options.
There’s no way 2400 was top 5% last season. Pretty sure with how inflated last season was it would have been more like top 15% or 20% . Top 5% would have been like 3k . Top 3% probably 3200+ and rank 1 like 3700? i forget. I got 2400 last season and im almost certain im not a top 5% pvper no frickin way

Last season shouldn’t never been as inflated as it was.
I agree with your comments on here most of the time, honestly. More hits than misses. While I’m not an elite player, and would probably agree with you at the higher end of ratings (I can’t really say)- last season it was still super sweaty around 1800. I’ve been playing this game for like 15 years and that was the sweatiest push I’d done until now.
I think it’s a little out of touch or just ignorant of how many casual players have quit WoW; to act like the way games around 1500 are right now is commensurate with how they usually are/should be.

The game was a lot more popular when there were fewer and more difficult rewards
Has nothing to do with the reward structure. Game population has been dwindling since Cata.
WoD is a perfect example. Game was super dead
I climbed from 300-1850 tonight in one session. We won 20 games in a row until about 1750, our MMR was so high that we fought multiple AWC champions and ended up going like 26-8 overall. Seeing those R1 titles is tough knowing we have rival 1 gear and they have duelist or better.
Although I did farm Pika 3 games in a row.
Sure let’s drop “elite” sets down another peg to say, 1600? While we’re at it, R1 is top 5% now and glad is 10 wins above 2k
Dude, the more you widdle down rewards, the less rewarding it feels to get them. There’s zero reason some rando who’s never touched PvP before x or y season should be able to grab an “elite” set. If you’re going to keep crying for rewards to be reduced, how about you champion more rewards being added to make up for pity rewards
You play the game at a certain level and get whatever rewards, if you can’t do that, then get better at the game. Don’t expect the rewards to be brought down to your or whoever else’s skill level so that they feel better. It’s sad

I honestly wouldn’t care. For that matter? Making zero rewards unless you hit R1 and keeping R1 at .5% just to see all the chaos would amuse the hell out of me, seeing as how the general idea of ‘git guud and earn it’ would still apply.
1800 is fine, that wasn’t even being discussed anyway outside of me referencing a post to point out how wild people get over this stuff.

You got 1 for season 1, better delete your account, I guess. Would hate you to carry the burden of owning something you don’t feel you deserve. Lol
