Causes more problems than it’s worth. How would you feel if they made it a battle res instead, and then gave us a real defensive?

i like reincarnate. what I dont like is the devs thinking its a defensive and giving us jack for real defensives because of it.

I feel like we need to start working with the dev team we have and not the one we want.
Just make it reset on boss pull.

Ion plays a resto sham and thinks its alright… so idk what to say past that. if the lead game designer thinks the spec/class is alright, then i guess we get no changes.

I like not having to consume a brez if I do a dumb and move a sec too late for groundfire, so I personally would prefer ankh to stay as a personal rez.
I don’t really PvP but I don’t really see how throwing yet another brez-er into the mix would change much.
We still need more defensives though

Yeah I mean it wouldn’t, but it would move the Reincarnate from “asset” to “liability” on the blizzard logic balance sheet.
Considering the fact Blizzard considers Reincarnate a ““defensive”” it should really be more useful for that. Maybe make the cooldown far shorter? I’m talking like 5 minutes short.
Probably too gimmicky and overpowered, but I’m thinking of it like the Shaman is “immortal” unless you can kill them twice within those 5 minutes, a task which is very easy to accomplish considering how awful our defensives are and how nerfed our self-healing is for the DPS specs in SL.
Or Blizzard can get it through their thick skulls that Reincarnation is useless as a defensive and they can give us actual defensives. Battle rez would be nice too, but certainly not as necessary.

Well they took our defensives because of it. And use it to justify not giving us real defensives.

What if they made it so when you die, you become a ghost and immune to damage for 3 seconds. During this time you’re free to move around and reposition yourself (in case you died in fire or want to get to a pillar in PvP) and then you are resurrected.
Give it a 5 minute cooldown.

It would give you a cheat death type ability. Sounds like that would help?
These are a lot of ifs, but still no. If you’re in 3s, as a shaman you’re usually getting zero’d in on. We need a way to punish teams who blindly train us.
Love the idea. The only thing about it is it takes away from the shaman identity that was Warcraft 3. Which I’m all for, dont get me wrong haha. I just notice a lot of people like class identity.

We like class identity, we don’t need WC3 identity. For one thing, not every class is chained to WC3 and secondly this one ability kills the rest of the class.
I think it’s great, and we should keep it. But if it’s going to be the cudgel with which they beat us, let’s get rid of it.
Uh… did people even play wc3? Reincarnation was part of the tauren chieftan kit… who was a frontline tank …
The farseer never had anhk (which was an item) so it doesnt ruin any wc3 fantasy settings… Classic wow … I unno maybe?
Honestly, why doesnt reincarnate work differently in pvp to pve content? Ignoring world pvp since thats a sad fiesta. Is it beyond blizzards simple comprehesion to have it apply differently in each setting? Probably.
For me, I want brez stripped from all but healers personally. Its become a must spell so, bin it, or give it to all healers to even the playing field. Isnt much risk in dungeon content when you stack brez. I cant say I want it to become a brez.
As for it to stay? Well. If my choice was stronger measures to PREVENT death. Like a defensive should. OR to keep reincarnation for my identity. Id remove it. It isn’t a class defining trait. You don’t go… Ah shaman, the one that reincarnates! … You say to yourself “Hey shaman? The one with the neutered totems?” Its a classic defining trait. That’s it.
Unless they improve it to revive us will all buffs at the time of death as a snapshot, or reduce the cd similar to hero on boss reset via death / kill… Or in pvp a drastic cd reduction…(sorry arena I got nothing for you) Its a weight that will always hold us back.
Even then it’s still pretty garbage as you have no buffs and your body could still be in a pool of insta death stuff. Not to mention it’s still completely useless in PvP. It should stay as is and be considered a class flavour ability that basically doesn’t exist. More useful as a res when you wipe so you can res the raid and save a walk lol.
Yeah honestly I wish they’d give lightning shield more ooommmfff… 10% damage reduction and more damage reflected back at the attacker. As it stands it’s kinda a big joke. I mean it fits the joke that is the rest of our defensive tool kit… But I’m not laughing
