My wife got the taverns music collection and would regularly play that on our home speakers and it was such a vibe. Just being around the house. Felt… “restful”
Search for the root cause. Feel with your feelings and senses. Breath - on - schedule. Make it a concious decision to breathe for a few moments.
Enjoy -
World of Warcraft holds many artistic values in its tapestry.
Find somewhere safe you can hearth to where you know noone else goes.
Think about your next words and actions.
Again. Breathe.
Put on a goofy song you can laugh to.
Shake it off.
I think techs worse than ever unless you have a way to go dark on it, so like offline things mostly now. There are times when you probably want absolute confidence you aren’t going to be triggered by something and with the oddity that is even simple search engine algorithms and ads now I can’t imagine vulnerable situations always being made better by hopping on the internet.
If you don’t it may be a decent habit to keep a journal, include things you do in wow if you like, but also include the same frequency of anxious situations, if you find it difficult to do future projections maybe you need to start with assessing the written past. Hindsight and foresight should eventually merge on most things, expecting absolute perfection in action or seeing it performed by others usually is a product of not noticing inaction or observing rehearsed action. I think when I come across people who behave in a rehearsed manner (repetitive customer service jobs) its very common for them (specifically their body language) to be defensive when the “skit” of social interaction veers outside the norm.
First, breathing exercises and meditation. I have the same issue you’re going through as I ween off some meds too. Breathing exercises/yoga helps tremendously because you’re constructing your airways when you’re anxious and panicking and these help open your lungs so you get more air which helps immediately.
In wow I like to herb/farm while watching something calm or cozy. I like Ghibli movies a lot. And also anything comforting like the tremors movie series (I don’t know why this one works for me ).
If you believe you have a chronic condition you should probably do research and find others with similar symptoms. It’s possible you have anxiety related hypochondria or similar, but people with serious diseases often have panic attacks. Doctors don’t know everything in their specialty and some are too quick to rationalize their lack of knowledge with “I can’t figure it out so it must be in the patients head”.
Stop taking meds and start finding actual IRL things to do. Like eating a healthy meal, getting excerise, talking with friends and family. Basically, socialize with someone and learn to eat better and take better care of yourself and get off World of Warcraft for a bit. You’ll feel a lot better. I struggled with anxiety too and I learned a lot more about myself and learned to become a better person that way. Meds don’t solve anything. If you want to talk more about it, add my btag. My impression 2nd hand experiencing people coming off different prescription drugs relating to anxiety is your short term memory becomes a lot more consistent. For example, if yesterday you were driving and were cut off by a blue car and rear ended by a red car, you’ll likely remember that it was a red car which rear ended you, and you wont forget for quite a while. On the anxiety meds you may forget within a week or even days that it was a blue car which cut you off, maybe it was green, maybe it was a honda… or was it a toyota? As you come off drugs your memory of the car (assuming a new event takes place and we’re now comparing your memory of either event) which cut you off will start to improve, not necessarily the action which caused the damage but the action which led to it.
The actions which lead to the damaging event, so in this case the blue car would be the events worth noticing in a journal, not being overly judgmental, of yourself or those around you, more so just a log so that if you do try to rehearse your history for the month you have a couple of short notes about eventful days. It is very interesting when you start to notice how your mind allows information to be forgotten when you have the confidence it’s “saved” somewhere physical.
I use DBT coping skills. I have a lot of literature from programs I’ve been in; but simple explanations can be found online. I’d recommend looking into mindfulness, distraction (as a skill, not a mechanism), breathing excercises, and somatic grounding excercises. I cannot recommend weening yourself off without medical clearance. It’s common for meds to just… stop working. It could be the dose, it could be the med. Either way, you should get that addressed. With guidance from a professional. I’m not your mom, but certain meds can cause seizures if weened off improperly.
I’m not a medical professional, this is not medical advice. I’m an internet rando.
