I honestly dont know if i want to play on an rp or regular server.
I want to play PVE and not really pvp.
I want to tank and heal for dungeons and maybe raids ive never done them before.
What are some pros and cons to rp and regular servers?
If I do play on an rp server i wont only do rp ive just heard its a fun thing to do to pass time. Like around Stormwind or Orgrimar or something.
Thank you in advance.
Play on an RP server. It’s your best chance to find an engaging, entertaining storyline that makes sense and only requires that you suspend your disbelief, not hang it by the neck until dead.

RP server -
Pros - Has a connected community and the lack of CRZ means that a lot of the times you will see the same people running around, like in the old days.
Cons - They aren’t really cons for me, but if you are not into RP, I can imagine it can be a bit awkward seeing the people talking in game as their characters, also, it can be a pain to find a progression guild.
I can’t say for PvE servers though, I never really played it, I can’t get past the silly names.

I started WoW on a RP server during Vanilla, and on a normal server for the opposing faction, just because that’s where my friends were. Since I don’t roleplay in this type of game, there isn’t a big difference from my perspective.
There seemed to be a general feeling long ago that the community tended to be more mature on RP servers, and I had the feeling that might have been true. There was also more enforcement when it came to appropriate character names, if that matters to you.
But what if i want to get into endgame pve?

They are there, they are just a few in between, but not particularly hard to find but also not in your face like I imagine it is in most PvE servers.
Are there a lot of things for engame pve like M+ or raids?
From my experience RP servers are nearly identical to other servers except that the world feels more alive, but at the cost of more sh*tposting and less guild/endgame advertisements in trade. Which could be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.

I would have a cringe stroke on an rp server. No hate to the people that enjoy it, I just am not wired thst way.

If you want to RP go on a RP server, if not go normal.
Dont HAVE to RP 24/7 you can go at your own pace in what you feel comfortable with.
I would just be doing rp if im bored in a city or something but is that worth the trade off of less endgame pve guilds

If you care about immersion and atmosphere such as seeing people walk around cities. Capital cities outside the current expansion one being populated with people. Or just seeing other players utilize the world in a way that makes them out to almost be NPC’s, I’d say go to an RP server. But if you want to focus on content primarily and care little to nothing about that sort of stuff I’d say go to a regular server so you have much more options in regards to playerbase and pushing harder content.
If you care about both somewhat, I’d say go to a server like MoonGuard or Wyrmrest Accord. Both have huge populations that both push content and have roleplayers all over the place. So you get the best of both worlds in a sense. I’ve been on MG since 2012, and I’ve not had any regrets since. For perspective I like both PVE and RP.

Thats pretty much what I have been doing for the past 6 years.
See’s Worgen, nervously looks at Goldshire.
Awoooooooo?
Regular, you’ll want to stay away from rp servers- people there are usually angry.
I see the opposite more than anything actually.
Disagree comepletely. In my experience, RP servers are filled with fun, chill players who are rarely toxic. Can’t say the same for normal.

I left Dalaran for WrA because it was a toxic cesspool.
