Regular Game "Crash" After Network Card Change

I’ve recently had the network card changed in my laptop, and since the game would regularly crash after doing such things as changing sub-zones, engaging a boss in a dungeon, or just idling in Valdrakken while in a queue. No error codes or dialogs are presented by the game when the crash occurs. The game simply stops responding. Music will continue to play until the music track runs out, then it’ll just stop.

Troubleshooting steps taken so far (to no avail) include changing settings in the game’s Network options, repairing the game install, and uninstall/reinstall.

No other network issues have been seen in WoW or other games or applications. Other games and applications have seen improvement to network performance since changing the network card, as has bluetooth connectivity. Using a wired connection is not feasible with this laptop unfortunately.

I don’t have any logs or anything to post here, though if I knew where to find those, I would supply them.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Let’s start off with what kind of network card it is. And did you get the drivers from the network cards manufacturer or did you let Windows install them?

AX210NGW with drivers obtained through the manufacturer.

Intel drivers have a built-in mechanism that can freely swap between ethernet and wifi connections, you may want to look into disabling that since it can cause connection instability.

I’ve disabled ethernet in the Network Connections just now. Once the servers are back online, I’ll play for a couple hours and see if the issue is resolved then.

Had the same problem once found out it was the difference between the new card and the old card drivers. Some of the files for the old card were still there they weren’t removed and interfered with the new drivers had to go in and remove all the Old card drivers and then do a clean reinstall of the new card drivers.

Still happening unfortunately.

I’ve since tried disabling ethernet (as mentioned earlier) as well as uninstalling all drivers under “Network adapters” in Device Manager, rebooting, reinstalling drivers for the new network card (as obtained from the manufacturer), and rebooting again. I also verified after doing this that the ethernet was disabled.

I’ve updated/reinstalled NVIDIA and AMD drivers recently and this seems to have resolved the issue. No crashes or other issues in a couple several-hours-long play sessions.
