gg Blizz
I get it was in prep for DF but man did this kill most of my crafting now. Just one less reason to not resub or even buy DF.

I actually want to lvl up my crafting now on my alts. The mats are cheaper imo. But its mostly just for my personal need to up my transmog game
I’m just curious about when this will “stabilize”. Some have gave me some reason as to why this drop in price has happened, but not how it will eventually stabilize. From my pov, you just great flooded the market with a massive amount of items. No two servers are the same when it comes to demand and supply. Token may go down, and prices I suppose could rise a bit, but our income will be lowered no matter what imo.
Quitting because you can’t price gouge anymore. Bye.
Yea it’s excellent for buyers.
I can’t sell potions for more than the crafting cost anymore. In fact, I can’t sell any commodity in any profession for more than the crafting cost anymore. Missives, enchants, none of it.
But god forbid I be able to try to fix things so I can sell above crafting cost, I get called “unethical” here for that.
The new AH killed my gold from crafting -which i was going to use to buy runs for the slime kitty - which I was only doing because of FOMO .
There, I think Ive covered all of this weeks drama.
But won’t it fix that once you STOP selling? Stop selling, and you may eventually make some money when there’s no supply anymore. It’s up to the seller to determine what’s too low a price. If you don’t like it, wait it out - you always have the option to not lose money.
The AH has been pretty much unusable since I’ve come back to join in Shadowlands. Transmogs have completely messed up buying items, you can’t buy gear to outfit a lowbie. Mats from old expansions are hit and miss, but usually miss or high/unjustifiably priced; the AH change just killed this problem. New mats were ripe for AH manipulation by only one or two actors; now you will need collusion.
But we all know the irony. The above paragraph is entirely the perspective of a buyer. Every reason I posted above, some seller was happily chugging away, selling his/her wares where she thought it priced best.
Change was needed. Unsure if I agree with the whole principal yet, but I support change.
have to wonder what dead server you were on that cheaper prices would kill your crafting
The price difference is the value of gaining skills from crafting the items. Buying the mats and pressing a button and then expecting to turn a profit doesn’t make sense when there isn’t any actual labor involved. If you want to make money, you need to trade your time - time to go out and farm boes or crafting materials.
a week probably not much longer - people pricing too low will give up trying to farm enough to meet demand and people undercutting the same thing.
It’s been one day of a major system adjustment. Cool your jets and see how things settle.
Never, Blizzard changed something AND I DON’T LIKE IT
This is the most important part of the game to me, personally.
I guess. I just doubt the demand for materials this late in the expansion improves.
I’ve had more issues buying things than selling.
“The item is no longer available” spam trying to get common mats.
So it’s not that you’re unethical, you’re following capitalism 101. However market economics 101 says that the price will drop to meet the cost to next unit, profit and labor not included. So the price should in theory drop to the hard cost of the mats and not one copper more in a true market. That will drive off some competitors allowing the market to stabilize slightly higher than that to include labor costs.
blizzard did a terrible job of balancing mats this expansion. You get so much meat and fish from everything and they are worth a few silver.
There is lots of opportunity on this new auction house to make gold - people just have to adjust what they are trying to sell.
Same! If I have to go out and grind, I wanna look gooood. For all my alts.
My little OCD says I cant be mismatched, its really bothersome.
Goblins on your server had manipulated the mats and prices to ensure that spectral flasks were selling for 975g each.
You can’t tell me with a straight face that that was ethical.
