I rolled this character after Shadowlands was realeased, but decided I wanted the Highlord title. I have gone back and am working through the Legion class hall quests. However, I have hit a roadblock.
I am on the quest to get Lumenstone from mission table rewards. However, I only have six followers and the first of these missions requires a counter to something I don’t have. So, I am stuck with miserable 20-30% success rates, not to mention being a few levels higher than the followers I have.
What alternatives do I have? Is there a list of quests that rewards the remaining followers, or a vendor I can purchase follower XP boosts from? I at sure that, at the time, this made sense, but not so much presently. They should remove this step.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how to proceed?
Ah yes, the mission table timegates.
There are exp boosts that you can buy for your followers from a vendor at the Broken Isles. I think it costs nethershards or something like that.
As you progress through the storyline you should get access to followers that you can recruit with resources, the best of which are the ones you get on Argus. They’ll have randomly generated traits(as far as I know) which might counter the one’s you’re having an issue with.
Edit: This might be helpful.

Thanks, I’ve got that open in a browser already. There’s a post further down that lists Paladin quests. The thing is, the remaining followers are rewarded after the point I’m on. So, what am I supposed to do? Certainly they don’t want me to play through the non-class-hall storyline too.
ngl it’s been a long time since I’ve played through Legion content so I’m likely not remembering everything involved. It might be that you just got hit with bad rng when it comes to the threats. Have you gotten any equipment that you can give to your followers?

Unfortunately, no. I may have to do the first mission, knowing that it’ll fail, so I can get a different one.
Hmm, I’m not sure. Sorry that I couldn’t help more.
It’s been forever since I did that, but it does seem odd you don’t have a counter for it. I thought they were all countered by one of the three specs: Protection, Retribution, or Holy. Is it different than that? What is the ability you need to counter?
By the time you get to the Lumenstone quest chain, you should already have unlocked the following champions:
- Lady Liadrin
- Lord Maxwell Tyrosus
- Vindicator Boros
- Justiciar Julia Celeste
- Delas Moonfang
- Aponi Brightmane
As you can only have 5 champions active at any one time (until you complete the campaign, which allows you to field 6 and then complete an upgrade which allows you to use 7), chances are the champion that counters the Lumenstone mission is the one you deactivated in order to keep doing missions.

I’m guessing that this is most likely it.
No. I checked. I did as I said above and started the mission anyway and sure enough the next one that popped up I had coverage for.
I think some of you missed the part where I said my followers were also several levels lower than required resulting in a low success chance.
Well if you have some extra Nethershards laying around, you can buy this from the Vendor at Deliverance Point in Broken Shore.

Even though you may be in a hurry, sometimes it is necessary to take a couple of days to run random missions to level up your followers.
Nethershards are available from invasion world quests and the treasuremaster world quests on the broken shore. If you haven’t unlocked that, it starts at the goblin down the hill from Deliverance Point next to the pet battle master.
You can also buy follower gear chests using nethershards, though most of the gear you get is useless, ie you get 5x as much bodyguard gear as mission gear. Also, the best follower mission gear comes from completing missions you get as part of the Argus questline.
I got it last night. Though, maybe I should file a report. Missions following the first were fine, but then I got another with the same issue. For some reason Liadrin being ret did not register as a counter for the same. I had to scrap a second mission. But, I managed to get all 50 eventually. Thanks for trying to help.

When I got highlord I failed so many of those missions I’m glad I’ll never do it again. I just bit the bullet and went for them over, and over, and over.
I don’t even use it since all my paladins are ladies, not lords, and even if technically a woman can be a lord, it still looks goofy to me. And no I’m not recommending they add a Highlady, that would be ridiculous, but maybe something with matriarch in it would be cool.
Edit: You’re right, only some of the missions were low chance. Still whiffed probably every last one like that though.

I succeeded in all of them, except for the ones I knew I’d fail due to Liadrin not registering correctly as a counter. They should make this title class-wide. Not fully account-wide, but only for Paladins who are at least leveled past 50, because theoretically, they’d lived through the other expansions.
