Refreshing icons for Key modifers

When using icons like [Mod:Shift] and the sort, what would I do to get the action bar icon to automatically refresh to the appropriate spell when the modifier is in play?

Press the modifer (i.e. Shift). Just make sure you don’t have another keybind that would conflict with your modifier.

Example:
1 - Keybind for Macro with Shift Modifier
Shift +1 - Keybind for a different Spell.

/cast [mod:shift] shift spell; default spell

Also make sure you select the ? for the icon.

There is also a special macro command, #showtooltip . This will show the icon and information for an item or ability, the same as if you had dragged the item or ability onto your action bar.
