I wanted to start a discussion on whether or not the community thinks reforging should come back in some way?
I believe it should. And even if you could only cut your main secondary stats to add tertiary stats like Leech and Speed, I would be extremely happy. I think this would add the level of customization WoW players want to mess around with, as opposed to overly contrived systems like the soulbinds, azerite armor, etc.
With talents like leech increases and passive speed increases, I think it makes sense to allow players to go whole hog into sacrificing dps for surviveability or movement speed in a way that feels like they actively sacrificed something in favor of something else in a system that doesn’t condemn them to stick with it if they don’t like it.
Just wondering what you guys think about this
Someone will probably say its unnecessary because we don’t have “hit and expertise”, and to that I respectfully disagree.
BFA is the first time we have reach stats literally reaching 100% without any kind of buffs like BL. This was of course all in part due to corruption, and regardless of how much we may hate it we have reached the insanely fun stats we had for a few months.
I support Reforging because before we had seen corruption, I always thought Reforging would be how players could get to new stat caps and try some crazier builds.
Even this bit you mentioned, imagine making the fastest character possible for the sole purpose of being a Flag carrier in Warsong or something, but being quite weak in combat.
Reforging is always something I will think about when imaging crazy character combinations, and I really wish it came back.
As fun as it has been to get the proper stats for a given spec over the last few years… yeah I’d enjoy reforging for that end of things.
Cause we all know how good mastery is… and it’s on everything.
No thanks. I don’t want another reason to have to go sim new gear before I can put it on. I don’t want Blizz to feel like nerfing things because someone decided to reforge all of their main stats to push some other aspect way father than it was ever intended.
I remember lots of cheering at BlizzCon when they announced that reforging was going away, so I doubt the community at large wants it back.

That’s a valid point for sure
