So from this we gather that the Kyrian are able to come together to reforge the Sigil of Bastion by elevating a new Paragon and forging a new Path that brings harmony back to Bastion’s kyrian.
How do you all suppose the other Sigils be reforged? My guesses atm are:
Ardenweald: The Tear of Elune will be used to re-empower the Heart of the Forest. No longer feeling abandoned by her sister and reaffirming the cycle of Life and Death is worth protecting, the Winter Queen reforges her sigil from her sister’s gift and protects the what both sisters strive to ensure continues.
Maldraxxus: The Primus will return home and clean house, leading the Reunified houses against the treacherous Vyraz. After his defeat, Dreka is elevated to Margrave of the House of the Chosen, Marileth the Margrave of the House of Plagues, and Vashj (?) is elevated to the Margrave of the House of Eyes. With Maldraxxus restored as one army the Primus forges a new sigil.
Revendreth: As the manifestation of Deanthrius’ power, and enough to hijack control of his own realm from him, the Crown of the Harvesters has a role to play. Renathal, as the new Lord of Revendreth with with his crown and the aid of the united Court Harvesters will be used to forge a new Sigil.
Each Sigil’s creation represents the end of the covenant campaign, as we have solved the issues of the realms and helped them to reinvent themselves on some level.
The real question is how do you reforge the Arbiter’s sigil? That might be the real question going into 9.2
Renathal made the crown so no Harvester could wear it for too long
Any Harvester can remove their power from the Crown at any time
Renathal is “First Among Equals” but is not their leader per se
Primus just declares Draka Margrave of Chosen, he doesn’t declare the others. No idea why, and we also don’t have a sigil-forging cinematic for them yet.
So is this confirmation that Elune is Life-related rather than First One related? I hope they eventually elaborate on the connections between Ardenweald and the Garden of Life, because I’m still upset that Ancients are ending up in a Death realm that isn’t associated with their cosmic force. Just bad book-keeping…
I’m just not a fan of how many tendrils Ardenweald has in the cosmology: links to the Life realm, Thros, and Bwonsamdi. It’s just too messy and ruins any “clean” feeling the Chronicle cosmology used to have.
It may be worth considering that of all four Maldraxxian Houses, only the House of Plagues remains a mystery in who its Barons were before it fell. Many have speculated that Marileth might have been, but while he was his Margrave’s soulbind, that’s not necessarily indicative of specific rank (the Winter Queen’s soubinds aren’t all her Dromans, after all) so him being a Baron hasn’t actually been determined. So it could theoretically turn out that finding/saving/reconstituting/curing one or both of Stradama’s Barons could play into things along the lines of restoring that House to working order under a new Margrave so it can play a role in remaking Maldraxxus’ sigil.
Elune is her sister, yes. A second Tear of Elune is created when Elune intervenes and saves Tyrande from the power of the Night Warrior, the excess energy that threatened to blow Tyrande up seemingly was turned into it.
I sort of think perhaps Elune and the Winter Queen were once one being, perhaps a First One, who embodied the cycle of life and split in half to maintain both sides.
Thros seems like it was a corrupted portion of the Emerald Dream than got walled off and cast away as a pocket plane, leaving the Drust locked up in a tormented state outside the cycle of their own making.
Bwonsamdi is a Loa, so he has links to Ardenweald like all Loa do. His realm is still an independent pocket realm, though. He just likes to meddle as he is always looking for people to cut deals with.
Myths claim the Earthmother shed the Winter Queen as a Tear and birthed Elune then temporarily made her an Eye.
Now either the Earthmother is a First One or there are two Titan Pantheons(the first being the Pantheon of Order and the second the Pantheon of World Souls) with the 2nd resulting from a member of the 1st clashing against Old Gods alongside her 2 oldest Children(if Elune is indeed the creator of the Naaru and not the other way round)…
They allow us to chase the Jailer in order to reseal the secret inside the Sepulcher(which may or may not be in the Undercity) if needed.
Of course if the secret is WoW’s counterpart to Babylon 5’s Shadows(considering we have First Ones that is probably a given) then they will probably all be fully escaped from Undercity and start whispering beyond Azeroth as they strike bargains with the Naaru!
The Shadows want one thing and that is Conflict and Evolution with the Void assuming that all the Conflict leads to the End of All Things, All Possibilities, All Realities!
Imagine if Azeroth is Z’ha’dum… A frightening prospect… A threat more dangerous than a Void-tainted Azeroth in otherwords(imagine an Azeroth tainted by the Shadows of Babylon 5 with the goal of getting us to fight each other continuously)!
Our only protection would be Lorien… Incidentally Lorien shares a name with Tolkien’s Dreamweaver who rules the Gardens of Lorien which is Tolkien’s counterpart to WoW’s Emerald Dream and Lovecraft’s Dreamlands!
While not definite yet, it could be that they need replacement sigils because if the Jailer manages to breach the Sepulcher with those he’s taken, they’ll have to use the same means to re-seal it after he’s been dealt with.
One supposes it could also turn out that the sigils are required to re-imprison Zovaal in the Maw if he proves beyond our capacity to completely destroy or if we find out truly killing an Eternal One would carry far-reaching negative consequences to the wider Shadowlands or universe that we’d rather avoid, and that the others deliberately skirted by locking him away in the first place.
According to that little cleaver use of game mechanics, if the Archon died in Spires of Ascension, a message would come up saying that all life on Bastion has been wiped out. So assuming that is the case, I guess killing Zovaal would wipe away Torghast and the maw.
I’m honestly hoping for Rathan for construct lead. He is the one running our Stitchyard, and he’s real good about taking care of his constructs needs. As well as has their trust. Hell, he even has us regularly checking up on Emeni. Plus, it be cool have a craftsman of Constructs rather than a Construct itself be the leader of the House.
It seems like the Eternal Ones are not even supposed to leave their realms, which is why they traditionally met before the Arbiter by projection. It seems likely their continued presence is required to keep the place stable, as they were the ones who shaped it to begin with.
The Court of the Harvesters have bypassed this it seems like by instead anchoring Revendreth to the Crown of the Harvesters, meaning Denathrius can be safely rescued and spirited away by the Dreadlords with no ill effect.
