Please, please, please remove the cost for reforging azerite traits. You’re forcing players to be pigeon holed into specific specializations in their classes instead of being able to utilize the different roles of their class. There are so many people that I know that refuse to play another specialization, including myself, due to the cost in switching.
Having a cost when you’re already forcing a player into certain traits (I understand that blizzard is trying to get rid of the meta by balancing traits, but there will always be one or two that would be better for majority of raid/dungeon/pvp scenarios versus the rest of the trait pool) is frustrating and ‘unfun’. To those who are willing to lay down and roll over and say ‘get a second or third set of gear’ is full of it when these traits are readily available on all Azerite gear. If they wanted us to use different sets like in the olden times when tier sets were specialization specific then those traits wouldn’t be available on those Azerite pieces.
Get rid of the exponential cost. Make it a flat fee at the very least. Give us the freedom of playing our classes as we please without having to sacrifice time to rng to farm for more sets. If you want us to have sets then bring back tier sets and get rid of the traits.
Yea, we went through all this when we had to repec specs. Then got removed. Now we have same thing just through gear…why are we taking steps back on this?
Our guild uses 1 main tank and then we have two dps players who swap to tank when the fight requires it or would benefit from having one type of tank over the other or if we need more ranged or melee dps.
They both complain every time we ask them to switch roles because they both have to leave the raid and spend their own gold to respec.
The stupid thing is Blizzard figured out this was a bad design way back in WoD when they made tier gear auto-switch so I have no idea why they went backwards on that design and gave us this stupid system we have now.
I’m sure you are aware of this, but farming different gear sets for different specs has been a part of the game since day 1. And it is actually easier to do now than ever before, so I’m not sure why people are crying.
There is a blue post on here that you can hunt down if you want. But someone from Blizz specifically said they don’t want the constant switching back and forth to be sustainable. They want you to go farm your BIS for additional specs. The option to reforge is meant to be supplementary so that you aren’t in a situation where you just flat out can’t role swap because you haven’t farmed the gear yet.
This is the definition of looking the gift horse in the mouth.
“Daddy, it’s takes tooooo looooong, and it’s toooo haaaaaard!”
“Alright kids, I’m going to make this easier for you than ever before”
“Daddeeeeeeee, it’s still toooooooo haaaaaaaaaard”
Fml, kids…
I love how people are complaining about feeling like there is nothing to do end game. And when Blizz is like, “Go farm your off spec pieces” people freak out.
Remember when you had to pay to change spec and it got so expensive you where stuck with just playing one spec. Ion in his stupidity brought this back to us the player. I mean really its all just a grind increase with this design. Which basically just makes people want to unsub. Not to smart when you refuse to learn from the past.
Considering that Ive been running mythic plusses non-stop to not receive one piece of azerite gear to be able to have “multiple sets” is what makes this entire system backwards. I wouldn’t mind having a flat fee to respec my azerite gear. I’ve played this game long enough where I played all 4 specs for Druid during one expansion and maintained gear sets for each spec. This is more of a carrot that they’re dangling in front of you for no reason. There is no merit in farming multiple pieces of the same azerite gear for the same purpose. It was nice when you were a tank and managed to get a tier piece to be able to have available when you tanked again, but to have to have the traits you want on a piece of gear only to have to farm for that exact SAME piece because it has good traits for another specialization in your class just to save yourself a fortune is a lack of foresight.
Residuum is a bandaid fix for this by them giving it to you in a chest weekly because they KNOW that getting azerite gear from mythics or raids are a pain in the backside to get.
So before you assume that we’re complaining to complain how about you do multiple swaps a night for your team and then have to spend your time farming gold to compensate for the lack of being able to reliably play a specialization because the gold sink is too high.
Over the years they bad QoL changes fir off specs, like primary stat swapping for spec.
The major issue atm is they’ve made azerite harder to get.
they removed the 370 azzerite cache from incursions, maybe emissaries too (more likely just bad luck with them appearing.
Azzerite wont drop from M+ or its cache.
The only reliable sources of azerite seem to be 370 from MO, raiding and the residuum vendor.
So, I imagine, for most atm trying to keep azerite for offspec your options are;
Refirge azerite each time you change spec
or
Farm up some 370 azerite (some sources not having the new ring) and keep a 30 or so ilvl decrease on 3 pieces of gear for your offspec
In time this will be less of an issue… But azerite is a bit if a problem starting this tier for off specs as bliz seem to want to limit our options for obtaining it
I really don’t think that farming multiple sets of Azerite is that tough at all if you are doing both M+ and raiding weekly. I mean it will take you a while to get BIS Azerite pieces, but to get serviceable pieces wouldn’t take too long. I mean I would say if it takes you the majority of a raid tier to get all the azerite pieces you want for multiple sets…then the set up is pretty good. It should take a couple months or more to farm multiple sets of “tier” gear.
Granted I only have 2 specs to deal with, but I don’t feel like it’s any more difficult now between WQ, Raiding, and M+ to get an off set of azerite gear than it was to get a second set of tier gear back in the day. And with tier gear you needed 4, not 3. And I don’t feel like the Titan Residuum system is any worse than using badges to get a couple pieces of tier gear. Honestly I think that badges back in the day should have been used for gear that was ilvl equivalent of tier gear, so end game raid quality in terms of stats, but I think letting people use badges to get actual tier gear was being a bit to liberal with the gear handout.
To me boss/instance drops should be the primary source of high end gear, and anything that is guaranteed should be more supplementary. A sort of bad luck protection or “band aid” as you said. When you have to first do something difficult, like kill a raid boss, and then hope your drop comes down…THAT is where the best gear should be found. With a combination of skill and luck. I see nothing wrong with that system.
