I enjoyed this rant b/c it is literally how I feel. I'm more hopeful that they'll restrict sharding to the beginning, but other than that I agree 100%.
I've never played passed WOTLK. My peak was during Vanilla / BC era. The only significant memories I have is of the vanilla experience, and before WOTLK item values sky-rocketed and suddenly things got super easy and convenient.
I'm severely anti loot trading because I relish in pugs and even if I was in a guild there are times when guildies aren't on your level / online.
Keep it up Zaigo, been watching your posts on here.
I hope the government will only tax this one product like they said on tv, so ill vote for it and they probably wont use it to tax other issues. Same mentality, same results.
I played up from BC until near the end of WotLK because I felt the game turned into a chore of logging in and doing my Icecrown dailies and I've been disappointed in how retail seemed to turn into exactly that, or the "raid raid raid" mentality, for the most part. But I bought the Legion/BfA bundle in support of the company and to see some of the current lore because I was happy they said they wanted to make Classic a thing. Everything seemed fine up until these couple of issues for me. I mean, these things are just not needed, and those who agree them base themselves on the weakest of supports against those who wanted this game to be the most "authentic" or whatever, the main group who actually wanted Classic.
I at least used BfA as a "busy work" type of game, as something to do because I knew, "Well, at least Blizzard is working on a good Classic." And this, no matter how small it may seem to some, is a huge breach of trust in the development team to me.
And being against the sharding, I'm sorry to those who think it's not a huge deal if it's just at the beginning zone, for whatever amount of time, but not being able to pop on and fly through the starting zone within 30 minutes to an hour is part of what a lot of people probably wanted to see when they first logged on when the game launches. The log in queues can get people pumped up and ready to go, knowing how many people are excited as they are to get into the game, watching that countdown, before being unleashed onto the world where able to actually get that feeling of needing to group up at level 1 just to tag a handful of mobs to even finish the first few quests. To see what people who wanted a faithful recreation were trying so hard to get when they talked about community and needing to work together, so early in the game. They want the giant mob that's going to award those who go out of the way to work together to try and get through these first few days.
And although I don't know as much about the loot sharing, I can assume quite a bit of misuse just by reading other peoples' more thought out responses on the matter.
But with that said, I'm not angry, just kind of disappointed. My sub was running out today so I needed to just get something out about my opinion on the matter while I could.
