I’m often getting a message that something new has been added to my appearance collection like:
[Powder Monkey’s Leggings] has been added to your appearance collection.
But, checking my collection, it’s not new. I already had it. The NEW banner is sitting on top of [Bloodstained Sous Chef Pants]
Live for hunting down missing pieces of transmog, it’s one of my favorite time-killing activities in WoW. I end up running a lot of extra content just to complete sets.
And these false-positive messages get my hopes up, then dash them over and over when it turns out “no, I already had that. Why’s it saying it’s new?”
Isn’t there some way to suppress the message if the appearance already matches something in my collection?
If it’s one of those “You have already collected this appearance, but not from this item.” type situations, it’s still technically new, because when you mog an appearance, you can choose what the item is labeled as in your inventory. And you’re only allowed to choose the items you’ve actually collected.
Yes. When you’re xmogging, right-click the appearance and a menu with a “Transmogrify as:” option appears that lists the items you’ve collected with that appearance.
Ah, you probably have All The Things. It does that because of its Completionist Mode, something that comes in handy when you’ve picked up something like a tier look-a-like on a class that already has that tier.
Pretty sure I yanked All-the-things out by the roots, because I suspected it was chewing up a lot of memory and I got tired of it’s window popping up every time I changed areas… I do have OverAchiever and CanIMogIt though, so it may be one of those as well. I’ll test it out! =)
