Reduced dragon riding speed in old world content

Nonsense. Maybe - just maybe - not everyone agrees with you on what is more fun? And maybe, as game designers, they are gate-keeping some fun things so it’s not all instant gratification then we’re bored because it’s all done/too easy/nothing left?

Isn’t it still incredibly faster than normal?

Potatoes… They be small. :potato:

I am more concerned by the fact that they don’t let you dragon ride until level 60. That was not advertised at all.

ok tell me why then

that’s incorrect, because dracthyr soar was 930% speed on the DF PTR and worked perfectly fine. the only reason they reduced the speed of that was to remove the “unfair advantage” that dracthyr would have when traversing the old world.

then why didn’t they state this as the reason for reducing dracthyr soar speed? they called it an unfair advantage, nothing was said about “oh our developers want you to experience the world in this way.”

as i said before

Yes it does.

See, two can play the same game.

oh they gave us something that isn’t as bad as the other thing

We are restricting the speed of dragonriding outside of the Dragon Isles in order to not make travel times on old world contents trivially short.

wow well wouldn’t ya look at that… a definite confirmation from blizzard first hand stating that i was correct.

is it really that important to ensure that traversing the old world isn’t “trivialized”?

why?

it serves zero purpose other than actually wasting our time.

Nah, i stand by what i said. You are welcome to believe otherwise.

Why even bother? Ion has decided. The more complaints he gets, the less sense his arguments will be and the deeper he’ll dig into obstinance.
Not worth it. Im just happy we can DR around the old world now.

Now see, THAT I can believe was the intent.
this crap of it being too fast to handle was a joke.
Glad we got an actual reason that fits the actual ongoing narrative, at least, lol

:point_up_2: :point_up_2: :point_up_2:
Pretty obvious. Glad they could at least be honest and admit it.

so your just gonna ignore any possibility that it could something more technical and just only believe stuff that fits your belief by engaging in confirmation bias. blizzard can say whatever it wants doesnt mean its the truth.

I believe Blizz is a big successful game company with professionals who focus on keeping the game popular. You (apparently) believe they are secretly trying to sabotage their own game because… (insert tinfoil hat thinking here).

Did I sum that up correctly?

well blizzard EXPRESSLY STATED the following:

We are restricting the speed of dragonriding outside of the Dragon Isles in order to not make travel times on old world contents trivially short.

you can find the blue post in this wowhead article:

If they didnt tell you it was 15% slower you wouldnt even have noticed.

Be honest, you would have never had noticed it unless they told you and you are just complaining because it’s the popular thing to do and you want attention. The first step of overcoming a problem is admitting you have one.

blizzard expressly stated in a blue post:

We are restricting the speed of dragonriding outside of the Dragon Isles in order to not make travel times on old world contents trivially short.

You guys over-estimate Blizzard. My guess is its just something they think they know, mistakes and rushed developments from project management.

The wasted our time by increasing flight speed from 300 too 700? Ok.
