I don’t know if this has been brought up here yet but yeah.
I don’t quite understand why we have to wait 12 weeks to get to 30% buff, just to then do presumably 4-6 weeks of raiding on 30% buff, then we go to cata prepatch.
We get THREE MONTHS of parses and speedruns being basically invalidated, when this could easily be reduced to 6 weeks instead of 12.
What other phase in wow classic has gone that long? by the time 30% buff is out we’ll be 20 weeks in.
The bigger point is that i don’t see the reason why these gradually increasing buff should take 12 weeks. What are the upsides?
You either killed lich king heroic pre 5% buff, or you didn’t. No one cares if you did it on 5,10,15,20,25,30%. Get it to 30% ASAP so the really bad guilds can down LK and start getting their gear/quit the game, and let the top end of the playerbase be competitive with parsing/speedrunning for much longer.
If people don’t like what Wrath was then don’t play it. It’s that simple. I didn’t try out Vanilla asking for sweeping changes, it’s not right that people come onto Wrath expecting changes because they ask for it.
This is the same type of mindless post that people were making in togc thinking ICC was going to come out in 8 resets compared to the 3-4 month timeline that was expected from blizzard, we still have ruby sanctum to release, and asking for the buff early makes it look like you just stretched the timeline for your post with that excuse. Just play the game dude
Yeah bro, terrible balance changes to certain classes pushing them to S+ tier is fine, but getting an outdated mega raid nerf that takes 12 weeks is completely fine.
The 30% buff turns the raid into naxx40 which is already painful enough and sucks all the fun out of the raid, but let’s also make parses and speedruns for 5 months irrelevant as well at the same time just because that’s the decision they made 13 years ago =]
Is this the same experience that said ulduar nerfs were coming in three months after release because they did in tbc after serpentshrine cavern and tempest keep release? Because if so your name is correct.
i dunno about others and i wasn’t playing on US during ulduar but let me link you this.
“I expect P4 to come 10October and icc open 12October”
and lol the patch came 10oct & icc open 12oct
another one “if i have to guess, then i’m sure it will be before June2023.”
token came in May2023, my original comment was 1year before the announcement of token.
also there are few more accurate date/time i commented for things which exactly happened but i’m too lazy to search my old history of posts anyway Why the hell you bully my elf name?
i think thats pretty obvious from my OP. just like the majority of players who aren’t having issues with prog (in a completely figured out game).
i have to ask, what is the downsides to weekly 5%'s for guilds progging? why are the mega boomers so stubborn with wanting two weeks of each increment?
I agree with OP for an expedited roll-out of the buff, and I wish the buff would actually just go straight to 30%. My guild got 9/12 heroic, came close to putricide. In terms of the feeling of accomplishment, it was 0% or bust. No difference between 5 and 30 in that regard.
This is just my opinion, but I do not understand people who enjoy progging beyond like 3-5 attempts. Best times in WoW were crushing naxx 40 with the boys, drinks, smokes, loud music because once you know the fight there’s not really a need to listen to calls in discord.
The WoW progger is a weird person to me. Like they couldn’t be good at a real competitive game like StarCraft, and they dislike pitting their skills against other people and finding out how they truly measure up to others. So they want WoW to be “hard” to feel good about it. It’s a gear grind to meet the dps/heal checks, then you solve the puzzle (do the mechanics). Like your parents giving you a little puzzle game to figure out. It is infantilizing in a way that easy raids and pvp are not. Easy raids are like playing a board game with your friends. It’s about socializing and sometimes funny deaths happen but you still clear and everyone can laugh about it. Battlegrounds are a war game that’s always fresh. Stressful raids where one little thing goes wrong or one person out of 25 makes a mistake and then you have to start over–that is ridiculous.
