Reduce spawn time on brokentooth

I’ll start off by saying that I met some nice people out here while sitting on a rock spamming eagle eye. I also had a random level 40 kill my tame with like 2 seconds to go. With all that being said the spawn time on this cat that is the only one with its attack speed needs to be significantly reduced. There are no less than 10 hunters on each layer running in circles/eagle eyeing at all times just to get this pet. Any chance we will/can see this reduced?

thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Are you really rare hunting on a seasonal server? I tried that with SOM. I felt like it would be a challenge, but I failed.

Rare hunting is like bird watching or train spotting… manage your goals. A seasonal server may not be the best place for a full clear. Use the example of bird watchers.

The movie The Big Year makes it seem like you need to see every bird on earth in 365 days. In reality bird watchers simply use “big year” to refer to a personal challenge that you define for yourself.

Maybe try to get as many rares as you can this year, and then set a goal to beat that number next season. This isn’t Pokémon Go

We don’t want spawn rates to change because that just dilutes the challenge and the personal experience as a whole.

Edit: Oh wait, you are on a Hunter and you are trying to tame it. I was trying to kill it. Oops

I would of bought a 2nd account played opposite faction and griefed him for the lifetime of the server.

and The Harvester
and Blackmoss the Fetid

I thought Brokentooth was not the way to go in SOD and you needed a slow attack speed cat? did that change?

Slow cat or wind serpent (depends on debuffs raid has) for melee

Fast cat is better for ranged.

Rare pet hunting on a seasonal server is going to get you exactly what it sounds like unless you are INSANELY LUCKY.

Like the NElf hunter that was skinning my kills in Duskwood last night when i tripped over Lupos. Had him come grab him up on the spot. I didnt confirm it myself but the guy DID say Lupos’ melee was registering as shadow in the combat log post tame.

And realistically, unless you’re 99 parsing, getting brokentooth is essentially useless for ya. There is only a few dps increase overall between brokentooth and other cats. Just get the easier one and be done with it.

Nah, leave it. It’s hilarious to watch 30 people per layer running around looking for a 1.2 speed pet that really doesn’t matter in terms of SoD PVP. The speed doesn’t matter in pve either, so it’s funny how many people waste weeks fighting over it.

Some dude just tamed it as I was doing a quest (after apparently killing the hunter trying to tame it). Then spawn camped the hunter he ganked with brokentooth lol.

Bloodseeker Bat > stinky moldy cat

the rake is 1.2 (level 10 cat) and the swamp of sorrows jungle stalker cats (lvl 36/37)are 1.2 speed…

broken tooth is 1.0 atk speed

if spell pushback was removed, that would destroy the primary reason to tame Brokentooth.

Bloodseeker Bat still good for Screech.

Fast attack speed is the play for Marksman Hunters because of the focus fire rune and Brokentooth has the fastest attack speed at 1.0 seconds.

I think a better change is to update the cat spawned from durotar meat to have a 1.0 attack speed. It took me 5 days of non stop camping to get brokentooth. Don’t do the farm if you don’t want to lose your mind. You literally have to be at the right place at the right time. Most farms suggest standing somewhere in between all 3 locations. I recommend to just wait at one of those spawn spots and tame it as soon as it spawns. That is what I did.

I would play a hunter so fast if OG Lupos made a comeback. =)

i guess you havent noticed that attack speed has zero effect on focus fire rune. It certainly would if the description on the focus fire rune was correct, but it isnt. It says that frenzy stacks up from basic pet attacks, but it doesnt, it only stacks up from pet special attacks such as bite and claw. If you want to test it, switch bite and claw off and you will notice you dont get frenzy stacks anymore.
Since all pets have the same energy pool, the fastest way to get 5 stacks of frenzy is to only use claw, since it has no cooldown (only a global) … and is only 25 focus, and all pets will do this at the same rate.
Broken tooth is not worth the time invested with focus fire in its current state. It was only ever a good pvp pet but with season of discovery , most of the spells you need to be worried about are instant cast anyway so BT is not as great as you would think it would be. I have one tamed in case things are ever changed, but right now he just sits in the stables taking up 1 of the 3 slots they have so generously given us.

false.

its 1.0 attack speed paired with the frenzy rune on wrist is very godlike with “claw” spam and uptime of ranged attack speed. Even at 1.2 (the rake) with claw, i have a 99.9999% uptime of 5 stacks on my ranged hunter

Hmmm… I’m gonna log in at lunch time and give it a test! I guess I never noticed this since I normally just have only claw on spam.

Frenzy stacks pet abilities not swing.
And let bt stay as he is.
But bring lopus back

It’s not, FF only procs from specials like Claw and Bite. Brokentooth is only useful for spell pushback, that’s it.

Just go get King Bang or Jaguero in STV. Broken tooth is only like a 10dps upgrade. Not worth the headache.
