Reducing the cost would still keep the same feel as classic as you would still have to run back to a trainer to respec and re-buy your abilities.
- allows tanks to respec to pvp
- allows people to respec to tank instances
- allows people to explore specs more while leveling and at max level
I’m sure I’ll see the same no changes crowed in here but it’s not a real fundamental change it’s simply making it cost less while still keeping all the other requirements in place. It would improve the playing experience for everyone while stopping calls for extra bigger changes like dual spec and the like.

Gold is way easier to make now that people know how to do it. Gold sinks are gold sinks for a reason. It’s not a change I see as necessary, and it does seem like it’d hurt the economy overall.

OP you have available to you many options to farm gold.
Respec costs are fine

Apparently fury/prot dw is the new tank meta now, and it’s viable in PvP. I’m S+S and deep prot right now but will probably respec once I get more raid gear

Gold sink is an economic process by which a video game’s ingame currency (’ gold '), or any item that can be valued against it, is removed. This process is comparable to financial repression in real economies. Most commonly the genres are role-playing game or massively multiplayer online game.

Here it comes. Can you feel it?

I’m not asking for a change, but I have to say this game is too currency dependent. Personally I think items and enchants should be difficult to obtain and expensive, but I agree the respec cost is dumb and dual spec was one of the best quality of life changes they made.
There are few changes I would be okay with in classic, and that is one of them.

I think Respec costs are nice because even after you’re full Bis it still holds the value of having gold. We don’t want this to become retail wow do we? I could agree the cap for Respec should be 25g at most or at least dimish 50% faster so you can respec more.

I would like to see this in Classic.
As for you “No changers” this no changes argument crashed the moment we realized this is not Vanilla.
The moment servers population will have a 5 k players cap yeah sure but until then your “no changes” argument is not valid.

For the health of the economy and the impact of decisions this is a big fat NO.
Respec is one of the biggest gold sinks in the game and what gives value to gold. Once the gold sinks are reduced the value of gold plummets. Inflation then becomes a big problem.
That and it takes away the decision making that people wanted in the first place. Going to the city is a minor inconvenience but having to pay that 50g is what makes class spec choice impactful

It’s only good when you have extremely geared healers. With out the healers you will be destroyed.
With the healers you will increase the overall damage of your raid (not by your own DPS) by means of your increased threat.
The increase in “DPS” you provide is meaningless compared even to an Enhancement Shaman or retribution paladin.
Repeating something as if it was true despite all evidence, reason, and argument to the contrary does not make it true - even if the echo box you sit in agrees it is. Your college professors lied to you. That’s not how things work.
#nochanges never meant exactly the same as Vanilla as that is impossible given the changed nature of technology, the underlying code base, the industry, and the internet itself. What it does mean is “no” to any petulant, self entitled, frivolous, I’ll conceived and badly thought through requests for change.
Just like this one.

You would have better luck suggesting respect cost to reset faster.

Tbh I really like the beefiness of being deep prot and using a shield. I can pool a bunch of rage, pull a boss, put 3-4 sunders on him immediately, revenge, shield slam, shield block, and then just get up and grab a drink from the fridge.
When I get back I’ll still have aggro and will have taken hardly any damage. I’ll have a ton of rage pooled up to boot.
Probably won’t be able to do that after a respec to fury/prot, but at least I’ll be viable in PvP

You ought to try out Arms, I promise you will not be let down by Mortal Strike + a healer buddy.
