Hello, this season is pretty interesting and a massive improvement from what season 1 was. However, there are still issues that need to be addressed. And one of those issues is item level. With the current gear track system Mythic track gear has a drift of a whopping 13 item level. This should not be the case, Champion and Hero track does not have this massive sea of item level difference and neither should myth track. And for good reason as well, if you’re just a player that gets their AOTC achievement and Keystone Master and then takes a break for the season, you get put into a situation where item level is extremely inflated because of myth track merely existing. This makes getting into a new season extremely difficult and makes an unnecessary gap that just makes people not want to play the game. With this in mind, we should go back to the Dragonflight structure where myth track was a 6 item level upgrade instead of what it is now.
Post on your main, not a Classic toon and I may be more inclined to read that wall of text.
Your post seems a bit off-topic. If you don’t want to participate in a discussion you don’t need to say a word ![]()
I’m confused. There’s also a 13 ilevel gap between veteran and champion isn’t there? Then there’s 13 ilevels between hero and mythic. I think the only one that isn’t 13 ilevels is champion to hero.
Mythic should have a gap, it’s really the only thing gear progress in the game that still feels somewhat difficult.
post on your main idk how you can do mythics at 23
No it’s completely on topic. If you have skin in the game (By this I mean… you actually play retail, and not Classic. But most importantly of all… you truly believe what you say, and feel no need to hide behind an alt for fear of being shamed by your peers) then you should have no issue posting on the character that you possess and which this particular matter impacts. Also you don’t need to dance around the issue. If your subtly trying to tell me to ‘shut my mouth’, then please… By all means muster up the brass and will, and come out and say it. I’m a big boy darling, I can take it. I value honesty more than platitudes and word dance, so lets skip the agendas and get to the good part.
A) echo what others are saying - post on your main. Using an “alt” or low level makes it seem like you are just trolling to get a rise out of people…
B) It doesn’t seem like you do Myth level content anyway…so doesn’t really matter? Unless you are upset you can’t get into Myth level groups to be carried?
These posts tend to crop up from players who don’t and never will even do mythic raiding. So yeah, at least post where the achieves are gonna show.
As someone who does partial mythics quite often, hell yes I want more ilvl. And so do most players who hit the mid wall. Extra ilvl is a chance to get past that. So there’s a pretty good reason for it to exist, as opposed to ‘omg number.’
I’m fine with the ilvl gap. Mythic raiding is significantly harder than Heroic raiding, and the difficulty gap between Mythic/Heroic is much larger than the gap between Heroic/Normal. Mythic raiders should have the opportunity to earn gear that reflects that.
If you only do AOTC and KSM anyway then it doesn’t matter in the end. You can get both of those achievements with all Champion track gear or a decent mix of Champion/Hero gear.
If you’re worried about ilvls getting out of hand, you may be pleased to know that there’ll be a stat squish in Midnight. Not that it really matters as everything is relative anyway, but I know some folks don’t like HP and damage numbers to be comically large.
i fully agree with absolutely everything you said here, i support myth track going back to being only 6 ilvl above hero track.
