where are they, i have been checking ah since the weekend and there is none( they other fishes are there, i went fishing on my top fisherman toon from fort victory down the river and plenty of catfish, other fish but not one redtail loach. where are they i get them for my guild cook and cannot find any.

Check wowhead. I have not fished in a minute so cannot give you a good spot. Sorry.
These are found mainly in the waterways of Nazmir.

The BEST farm spot is in Nazmir, [Krag’wa’s Burrow (75.6, 56.6) in the Frog Marsh.] There is a pond there where you will also find Krag’wa the Huge. You’ll almost exclusively get Redtail Loach. Happy Fishing!

Any interior waterway in horde territory.
Redtails have been getting more scarce on my server as well. None on the AH even though there are a lot of midnight salmon.
It started in 8.1, they did something to the pool spawning in nazmir and the pools are almost always great sea catfish now. As mentioned above, you can go fish the great frogs butt in Nazmir, it’s about 50/50 redtail/catfish.
AH is getting kind of weird though, the scarcity and prices of redtail are pushing the redtail price beyond the point of profitability for making feasts while feast prices are holding or going down.
with <50% fish up rate, its pure time that’s driving numbers down. The demand is higher than can be provided.
They share inland water with Great Sea catfish (which makes no sense, but whatever). One very easy place to fish up the loaches is the little pond right next to to flight master at Tortaka Refuge in Vol’dun. As mentioned above, Krag’wa’s Burrow is also a good spot (just fish in the deep pool right behind Krag’wa’s butt). Both will drop about 50/50 loach/catfish, minus the gray junk.
