Redridge Mountains PvP

Alright boys
So there’s apparently a new horde quest line for max level horde players, that was added in 8.1, it takes place in red ridge mountains, not sure what its for, and quite frankly I don’t really care. People are getting ganked in Lakeshire and the horde is trespassing on our territory, they need to be stopped. I just felt like making this post because it seems like not many alliance players are aware of this. So now that you know i expect all of us boys in blue to be patrolling Lakeshire making sure the horde stays in check.

It’s not that we’re not aware of it. It’s just that most people recognize it was poor execution on Blizzard’s part considering there is no incentive to guard Lakeshire. All the reason for Horde to be there, no reason for Alliance who don’t have a particular goal in the area to be there.

The quest takes the horde inside the inn. This is simply a “wrong place, wrong time” scenario. I would advise leveling elsewhere for the near future.

The problem I’ve seen throughout the community recently is that everyone is talking about “go somewhere else”, “do something else”. How about we step up to Blizzard and make it clear that we pay $15 a month and expect a quality game in return, and start confronting them about the issues in the game?

You can level pretty much anywhere on either continent. The quest like makes sense from a story perspective, as Saurfang has escaped the Stockades. Suggesting that Blizzard has an issue because the story puts horde players in 1 small area for a limited time (10 minutes), is hardly indicative of a problem.

This is not a big deal at all.

I don’t want to pay for a game that designs their content in a way that I have to find a workaround for. It does line up with the story, however the execution was garbage. They could’ve created a separate instance for that particular questline.

I was in a raid which camped Redridge for an hour or two, because we’d had word of a Horde raid there. We didn’t find the Horde raid, but we did end up killing a max level Horde quester every couple of minutes. There seemed to be more max level Horde in the area than low level Alliance, which is fairly severe misdesign.

I strongly suspect that the quest was originally designed when level scaling was still planned for the expansion, so that low level characters would have a small but noticeable change against max levels. When level scaling was removed, that permitted the max levels to one shot the low levels trivially, which removed any reason for the high levels to be reticent about ganking.
