I don’t think anyone has made that distinction. It was blizzard who made all the high elf npcs have blue eyes while keeping the blood elves green. Their reasoning was they were using fel magic, which was green.
We just wanted our WCIII alliance version is all. That’s all we ever wanted.
With all the void elf customizations unlocked, we have that all but in name.
However I’m a big proponent of adding more customizations to an RPG. I understand and respect some people opinion on a more puritan take when it comes to limited options, but I don’t share it.
Why the heck do we want a land that original folks don’t even bother repairing their cities and fix the big vertical line of destroyed land as if it was ruined by a snow blower?
No. We aren’t going to be responsible for some red weed addicts who are too high to use snow blower on that ground and refusing to fix their home.
One, Void Elves came from Blood Elves. Speaking for myself, this was not something I wanted, and I’ll honestly never understand why Blizzard went that route. It honestly felt like a spiteful, “If you guys want to be Blood Elves, here, have some Blood Elves.”
The second problem is that Void Elves have the warlock class as an option. Playing with Fel, just being near it, was enough for Blood Elves develop green eyes so there isn’t a reason for Void Elf Warlocks to not have green eyes.
Had Blizzard given us our Silver Covenant High Elves, no Warlock class, I cannot see any reason at all they should have green eyes. Sadly, that’s not what we got.
Even if SMC allowed limited contact for players, maybe they could have a guide like in the Dalaran Underbelly. A total revamp of the city is definitely needed!
There’s plenty of flavor in game like the ebon blade (all races) staking out cities pre-Shadowlands and void elves being turned away in the cathedral in SW :o
It needs a heavy remodel for real. I doubt Blizz will ever do it. Because it’s still attached to the Outland map and would need completely redone from scratch.
As far as I know, just that some characters or beings imbued with the Void have red eyes. Azshara, certain old gods and their minions, etc… Arguably it might also apply through fel, again Void Elves having Warlocks and Gul’dan having had red eyes, as well as any number of demons.
At this point they may as well just unlock all eye colors for all races.
