I’ve been good for too long playing as a Draenei/LF Draenei Paladin, would love the chance to play as a sadistic Man’ari Eredar! >:)
Even better, one that’s furious they’re serving the Lessers, and will now have to also slaughter their own kind if they ever come across them.
The RP potential is almost as delicious as the karmic and vengeful comedy it all is.
That was my response to your comment about not remembering if they were much a part of Legion expansion, not the anduin/succubus thing.
God. I. Hope. So.
I’m already thrilled I can make a blue eyed blood elf paladin come shadowlands, if I can make a red skinned draenei faire mage I’ll freaking lose it.
Well you’d think the Lightforged would’ve veto’d VOID elves joining the alliance, but they didn’t. So I don’t think the draenei would object to their misguided kin being brought back into the fold. Also Draenei Warlocks would be a nice addition.
And rogues. Please give us draenei rogues.
At this point, I’m honestly surprised they haven’t unlocked more classes for some races. This is the perfect xpac to do it too. No new class and pushing this is the customization xpac. Nothing says customizing like new class options for races.
I would friggin love manari eredar and the addition of draenei warlocks.
It is my dream to play a venthyr draenei warlock with a nice ashen or red skin, wicked horns, and a long tail.
But it probably wont happen. Because light, lol.
Honestly, I think the only classes that should be race locked are ones that make sense lore wise. This being only demon hunters and death knights. But since Bolvar raised more death knights, the death knight restriction should only apply to any additional races made playable in the future unless we find some way to reforge the Helm of Domination.
The more we learn about Ardenweld, the more I’m thinking a lot of races could develop a bond to become druids.
I think blizzard really could bring Eredar to the Alliance.
I mean lore doesnt really matter these days. Just take a look at The Mag’har Orc questline, it all was created just to give the Horde the Race. Yrel was completely changed just to make that happen.
I’d level a red draenei/eredar so hard!
Thing is, the eredar themselves dont have to join the alliance. If their skins were introduced as options under draenei character creation, it could easily be played off as a rarity or a small group of eredar who are seeking either redemption or a return to their origins.
We already know that prophet velen’s son became an eredar and he found out too late to save him, but he would’ve tried.
Now that the legion is defeated, the eredar are leaderless. There’s three paths they could take:
- Try to take over a sect of demons for themselves as leaders
- Become subservient to another demon that does #1
or - Leave the legion and rejoin their draenei brothers and sisters, potentially using their knowledge and skills to enslave/control the demons they used to be a part of.
Don’t worry, a certain Undead Elf is going to take care of that.
#3 Especially since the draenei have control of Argus again.
I mean, druidism is complex, but as long as a people are willing to work with nature and its spirits, they could be taught druidism. Gilneans could be druids even without being worgen bound to Goldrinn, and the KT humans could be druids simply by learning from the Drust, which were vrykul.
And it doesnt have to be ALL eredar that take that path. Some might do #3, some might do 2, some might do 1, but we dont have to represent an entire species when it comes to a few customization options.
We are learning the Drust are very rooted in Ardenweld with their “death magic” and its ties to druidism. And we are going to be forming a soulbind with a faction there. Could even gain favor with the Winter Queen. Which in itself would be a bond to enter the Emerald Dream as Ardenweld and the Dream are connected as 2 sides to the same coin.
speaking of races that shouldn’t be DKs how did they manage to twist the lore around to explain LF draenei? they were supposed to only exist on argus so how did they end up in SL?
for that matter the maghar orcs in SL since they werent even from our universe and lore wise Garrosh dying on Draenor kept him from being in the afterlife so by that logic shouldn’t any maghar orcs not be there for Bolvar to raise?
Not… exactly…
Gilneans prior to the worgen curse (and by extension their connection to night elf society) werent technically druids, they were harvest witches. They had some nature-based magic, but I’d venture to say most of druidism was far beyond them, including the shapeshifting and celestial aspects.
Similarly, Kul tiran druids arent ‘real’ druids either, they dont get their power from the wild gods or a particular connection to nature, but through the drust which is more along the lines of dark nature magic.
Similarly, the zandalari arent ‘real’ druids either, they’re dinomancers who are receiving their abilities from the loa. It’s up for some debate whether or not the loa are just more wild gods or not, obviously, and there’s no proof either way, but zandalari ‘druids’ dont hold to the same ideologies that cenarion druids do.
