Recycling gone to far

I think with the mage tower blizzard realized they can just release old content instead of new content.

This isn’t a good sign of the health of the game when they couldn’t make a 9.3 instead just digging up old content sigh

what ever new content they make in Shadowlands , people won’t play it or comeback anyway because they boycott Shadowlands since 9.1

better put ressources on 10.0

The health status of shadowlands has definitely been unhealthy for a while

I don’t really known what happens from now. Ripcord pulled, cross faction finally announced after years and years of not doing it, magetower moved from occasional to permanent are all really big changes of heart i didn’t think would happen all at once

I thought this thread was going to be about the neighborhood recycling program. I was like ok what the hell did the city do now?

Players have been complaining about making old content evergreen. Not sure what players thought Blizzard was going to do. Investing into old content via adding new content, sounds like a waste of resources.

It’s not a great sign for the health of the game but it was an incredibly popular request (so was cross faction)

That they’re dipping their toes in things people want is nice.

People have wanted old content to remain relevant since forever. It keeps the variety of stuff to do much, much larger. Plus people just enjoy reliving old times. What a silly thing to be annoyed about.

Classic is the biggest recycling project ever. Leave it to Actiblizz to figure out how to successfully sell the same game all over again.

:joy:

How much to people get paid to attempt to gaslight developers in order to make the community environment even more toxic? Players were extremely vocal – strident, even – asking for the mage tower to be made available for a wider window of time.

So the devs did it.

And now you post this.

Why?

There isn’t a single reason that actually pertains to the actual health of the game.

Do you actually do this for free?

If it gives them more resources and time to make 10.0 good I’m 100% for this.

Covid, a National pandemic is why we don’t have the usual 9.3.

Didnt this forum complain about wanting old content to matter when FF14 was the big FOTM here months ago? Buddy, if people dont want to play WoW – they arent going to play it regardless of new or old content. Its basically then giving players who want to stick around something to do during a content drought while development happens.

The alternative isnt 9.3. Its a content drought with literally nothing.

I think they will do new content. But i think no iterations to keep thing interesting in dead periods like an xpac end is good compromise.

Another year of 9.2? Or a new season woth new stuff?

Breaking seasons from content drops may he a great thing

Gd asked for all content to be relevant.
Gd now ask to not reclycle content.

Happiness is a state of mind. It all depends on that threshold for most people.

Bring back titanforging if you want to keep current content relevant and people to keep playing

Let’s take an example, since shadowlands expansion is already over:
We can either have the same stuff we have right now to do until the next expansion is released, or we can up-cycle some old content.
Say it takes 50% of the team to make new content for shadowlands.
And just 10% to up-cycle old content for players to choose to play with until the new expansion.
And the rest goes to working towards the new expansion.

These are obviously random numbers, but the point being the shadowlands is already finished so they dont need to add NEW content to it. However they can up-scale old content so there is more “up-to-date” content for players to choose from. Which since it takes less effort than adding completely new content it also means more work can be done on the new expansion.

Probably less – all that would be new is the WoD M+ dungeons and raid affixes. Everything else already exists.

This is a bad take.

Once ppl are decked out in max ilvl Titan forging isnt relevant, neither is content because its been done to death.

New mechanics, mogs, achieves is new coat of paint but still makes old content relevant
