I haven’t seen anyone talking about this so here goes: At lower levels you are able to get this set as a reward for the mini events and from the boss. It is a really cool looking set but after you reach a certain level it won’t drop anymore. It would be really nice if there was another way to acquire this nice set like purchasing it for memories but I don’t think there will be another way which sucks pretty bad. I will try leveling my rogue during this to get other pieces but being as they are randomly given out I’m not holding my breath on getting the whole set.

I think you are correct about that, it looks similar but I know the weapon models are very different from those.
I think it’s the Exile’s Reach gear (which shares some looks the Dread Aspirant’s set.)

I’ll look through all of the weapons, but the Greataxe is the same as the Expeditionary Greataxe.
Thank you very much. I haven’t done exiles reach on any of my characters as they are all already leveled or created. Am I to assume these only come from battle of stromgarde instance?
Okay, I went through all of the weapons on Wowhead and they all have equivalents. Most are the Expeditionary weapons. So if there are pieces you’re looking for, that’s how you can get them.
Just look them up on Wowhead and it’ll tell you where and how. Everything seems to have an equivalent that can be acquired.

I really appreciate that very much. I know the shield is a stormwind type of shield with the lion on it and the tome I got is different and nothing like those. What is ‘expeditionary’ if you don’t mind me asking? Edit, nevermind I found it. Looks like they sell them in stormwind?

Does this drop for any character under 70 instead of the Dalaran Defender’s sets?
If priority is the new transmog, it means I should focus on farming with max level toons and not leveling low level toons in the event?

Yes. It drops for everyone under 70 but I’m not sure if they changed it, I haven’t gotten any loot since the hotfix just currency.
Loot still drops. It does seem a little rarer than before since the echoes are always up, but yeah they still drop.
From what I can tell from wowhead you can get all of it in game already aside from the shields which have an item in the game files but they don’t drop.
The weapons and shields are all unique, the shield does drop but you have to be protection. After farming the event on 2 characters and after getting 7 pairs of gloves, bracers and boots, I managed to get the mask and leggings. I have gotten a mace, dagger and one hand axe. Probably just dumb luck.

Speaking of, they need to look at the ilvl on that stuff. I can wear something like ilvl 130+ on my 27 warrior but the recruit gear is something like ilvl 29

I’ve found that the Recruit’s Sturdy Cape/Cloak/Drape for alliance share their models with capes only obtainable from Shadowland’s prepatch. Is there any other Recruit’s Sturdy back items? I imagine there would be would make sense 1 to go with each armor type, but I haven’t seen it yet or know what it is called to look it up.
Edit: I assumed it would be Shawl to line up with the Dalaran defender cloak names, and Recruit’s Sturdy Wrap came up but I cant find a page on wowheaad for live just ptr so idk if it’s the same one but it doesnt seem to be unique for ally, but the horde version seems to be a model only from the Shadowlands Prepatch.
I leveled my druid from 50 to 70 and my rogue from 12 to 70 in the past few days. I managed to collect the entire leather set and a couple weapons but I can tell you now it was a real pain to grind the entire event, sometimes it bugs out and you don’t get awarded anything which sucks and the supposedly improved loot does not drop all that often. I didn’t get any cloaks, just a lower level necklace.
It’s a darker re color of that set
