Heya, I convinced a friend to create an account and play the game with me. Originally I thought there should be a message in game when my friend created a character and logged in, but I didn’t get any notice like that. After invited him to group, I cannot add his battle.net tag to my friend list either. Can anyone help?
Recruit a friend is getting removed soon, but the recruit a friend button is now (few years) in game at the top right in the friends list. I got pass that part already, it’s the part AFTER he created a character, logged in, but I don’t see any notification, and the RAF button doesn’t show an option to confirm his log-in, joining, etc.
Did you figure it out yet? If he hasn’t made a real account yet and it’s still trial version the RAF won’t work. but when you see him in your friends list there should be a button to summon him. I would add him out of client as a battle.net friend and go from there.

Is recruit a friend ever coming back? I heard they were going to bring it back do you know if that is so and when it will return if so?
We don’t know when it’s coming back (or exactly what form it will take) but it will come back. There’s some datamined stuff in the 8.2.5 patch. That doesn’t mean for sure it will come back then, but it does indicate that the new version is being worked on.
