I last played 6 months ago during Classic relaunch. Due to creating a new profile for WoW Classic, I have forgotten the account name to access my WoW account. How do I recover this account name so I can start playing again? For clarification, I can obviously log into my Blizzard account. All online support gives directions for the blizzard account recovery, nothing else.
Check out the account recovery page for options on recovering an account:
I may be looking in the wrong place but I believe this account recovery page only allows you to recover your blizzard account. I am looking for specifically for the WoW account name for logging into my wow profile with all my toons. Thank you for your assistance however. If you have any other recommendations, I will try them all!
Oh, I see what you mean. On the BattleNet client, where you launch WoW (and potentially other Blizzard, and Activision games), on the WoW tab, there are dropdowns to select Version (PTR, WoW, WoW Classic), and accounts: WOW1 (US), etc.
If for some reason you have multiple accounts, but they are not active, and you would like to figure out which one(s) you have Classic characters on, then unlike Retail, you cannot login to see the character selection screen.
If you happen to be using the same computer, and have not deleted your WoW directory, you may be able to see which account has characters by looking in your WTF directory.
The path to find it will be something like this, depending on where your installation is located:
C:\<install-path>\World of Warcraft\_classic_\WTF\Account\<AccountNameOrNumber>\<ServerName>\<ListOfCharactersOnServer>
