Hey everyone, I’m attempting to build a new gaming rig to replace my old 10 year old one, and I was seeing what I could get with around ~$1000 for it to run Shadowlands at a really decent speed and the like.
I would like about 3000 - 4000 MHz of RAM. About 1 Terabyte of storage, and perhaps a cooling system.
The build I’m looking at is this.
-cooling system-
be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
-motherboard-
Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard
-CPU-
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor
-memory-
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
-storage-
Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
-video card-
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card
-case-
Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case
-power supply-
Silverstone 500 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply
Is what I’m looking at, but… I know almost nothing about building gaming rigs, any tips?
Sample Build, doesn’t include tax/shipping/rebates.
This is the assumption you’re going to build it yourself and this doesn’t include Windows.
Windows you can get for cheap through schools/work or if you know where to look. Otherwise you can install windows but you will have a watermark and won’t be able to change some settings.

If you don’t need super fast loading times, you should get a WD Blue 1 TB SSD. I think there is an M.2 version as well.
